This great room/dining room needs some spice! Please help!
Comments (31)Here are some pics from Houzz that might give you some ideas. I love the blinds in the first on that hide the upper windows, but it's a pretty contemporary look. The interest on the ceiling along with the chandelier brings it down a bit. Comments (2)Whenicit, have you looked at the entries and halls thread in the Gallery? You will find lots of tables, lamps, mirrors, and great accessories there. You can pick out what you like best and then do your own version of it. I've put hundreds of pictures in there for you....See MoreNeed help with bar room (maybe our new dining room?)
Comments (4)Thanks for the comments so far! The room was originally a sleeping porch I believe which is why it has concrete floors with a pattern in them. I'm attaching a rough layout someone made of the first floor. The green line shows the approx original outside wall of the house. The grotto was added on and hopefully will come off in the next few years to restore the original first floor layout. And here is a picture of the adjacent formal dining room....See MoreNew dining room mirror, curtains, lazy susan! Other decor suggestions
Comments (13)Thank you everyone!!. I can move the mirror on the other wall in the room. I would like to keep the mirror in the same room, as I had it custom made for this room. I just received this painting today, I still need to stretch it onto canvas or frame it. I was going to hang it in my guest bedroom, but it may look nice here. It is long and narrow (24x48") so it may work here. I have moved the mirror onto the other wall in the room. I can add other art work or maybe glass plates or something around the mirror, so it doesnt look too lonely and small on that wall. @tibbrix, I do like the idea of painting the wall, we will have to wait for next year otherwise our warranty gets void. thanks!, Cooks....See Moregrapefruit1_ar
