Need edging on raised paver patio?
Comments (1)sprengle1 - I know it's a little late, but did you check in on the "Gardening With Stone" forum on this site? Right now, Kaitain just started a thread about some stone projects. I clicked on the link in her post and then on a particular pic of her/his stone wall "east". I think it said. Anyway, keep hitting "next" in that east stone wall gallery and I think you'll see an example of what you're talking about. Maybe. Stones used as edging, placed on a brick-paved area. Sorry, I can't help you find the exact pic. You might do a shout out to Kaitain with your question?...See MoreNeed to raise pH quickly - best way?
Comments (5)HM, that's a great idea! I have some pots, if they can buy potting soil and work on liming the (single) row they have rototilled. The blueberries were planted in a long row too, whole thing rototilled but clumps of grass left in there, I pulled them out, shook off the roots, and threw the grass under some cardboard they had in another area (I hope they don't plan on planting this year). Kind of a waste to till a 60 ft row for 12 bare root blueberry bushes (and then have to mulch) when we could have just dug 12 holes and mowed the grass in between. I'm coming a little late to the party, trying to help out. A little too late for planting (1 of the blueberries was starting to bud) but someone picked them up on Friday so have to plant them ASAP now instead of waiting for next year when the soil's been amended....See MorePrice Check on Raised Paver Patio
Comments (3)No offense, but your question is equivalent to someone asking what they should pay for a red car. Just not enough info. Some big variables: -what paver? by what mfr? -the walls to raise the patio, and the seat wall- what's the material? -what are the riser faces made of? -what are the steps made from? -most important, what's the skill level and reputation of the install co? I couldn't begin to give a price on this job without that info. To be honest, I still wouldn't, because it's such a complex job and there are a ton of variables, I'd hate to miss something and make you think you weren't getting a fair price. Your best bet is getting multiple bids from local contractors. I wish I could be more help, but this job could fall anywhere in a range of tens of thousands of dollars. Comments (11)No idea the water source based on photos. A paver patio is built on granular material that drains quite well. so there is no need for a drain under it. Even if the material under it becomes saturated, the patio surface will still shed water, and eventually the saturated material will still drain. The rocks around the edge I would not call a retaining "wall." They act more as a curb. But since the curb is comprised only of individual rocks separated by soil, it, in itself, is not capable of preventing water from draining away. Nor should it be. The existence of the patio & curb seems separate from the problem of an unknown source of water infiltrating an area. (Other than that they could complicate the diagnosis and repair.) But it is enough water to look like a leak ... unless you happen to have a very high water table. If you do and there has been a lot of rain in days prior, that could cause such a condition....See MoreYardvaark
