What Was Your Low Temp Saturday Morning?
Comments (34)Hi Ilene, I'm kind of amazed y'all didn't have a frost because it looked pretty cold up there on the weather map. The green tomatoes I left on the vines are just sitting there and sitting there and sitting there. I don't think they are going to change colors and ripen until the sun shines. Supposedly we will have sunshine here on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I'll believe it when I actually see it since that also was our forecast last weekend and we had no sunshine and lots of cold instead. I think in the last two weeks, we've had a couple of times where the sun came out for 3 or 4 minutes, and last Thursday we had a hour or so of sun early in the day. It got our hopes up for a sunny day, but then that tiny bit of sun vanished. I saw an article on the website of either the Fort Worth or Dallas newspaper that said as of yesterday they were on their 11th straight day of clouds/no sunlight, so even that far south they are having about the same weather as most of us. The good news is that most of Texas has had a lot of rain and their drought conditions are receding. When the new Drought Monitor map is released tomorrow, we'll see a lot of changes.....I know that, not because I'm psychic, but because I have already looked at their KBDI map this week on another website and it shows great changes. Don't those Crocs have holes in them? I can't wear anything like that, including any sandals or open-toed or open-heeled shoes, that let the scorpions or fire ants have access to my skin or they'll take advantage of it. I learned that the hard way and have tried pretty hard not to slip up......if there is one fire ant in the yard and I go outside the house in sandals (I do wear them indoors), that one fire ant will find me the instance I step off the porch and onto the ground. We do have fire ant mounds popping up in a few places, and I still have some organic fire ant killer, so if we get a couple of dry days, I'll treat those mounds. Our puddles even have puddles, Ilene. The dog yard is a muddy mess but we've spread a couple of bales of straw there and that is helping. I think we need to get a couple more bales of straw and put out even more. When I walk in the garden, it squishes. I suspect this long, cloudy spell is a taste of the kind of fall/winter weather we're going to have this year. Usually October is one of my favorite months with its bright blue, clear, sunny skies and moderate temperatures. This year is a whole different story though. Dawn...See MoreSaturday Morning Set-up
Comments (10)Velvet we've received HUNDREDS from you on a continuous loop on multiple occasions! IÂm not kidding. :-) Well I'm really missing Jan & Jim, Mona & David and Norm & Barb already!!! Guys it just ain't nearly as much fun without you. Even Lucas and Bonnie are doing the "No Show" Holman thing again. At least Bonnie is a first time "no show" and not quite yet an actual Holman but Lucas... I'd have to take off my shoes to get an accurate count on that one....See MoreSS Weekend Support - Thur. 3/25 thru Sun. 3/28
Comments (19)I'm here, but I am mired in taxes!! I spent the day yesterday researching and buying a new printer and today I am doing my taxes. State is done, local is done and I am taking a break from Federal. It is beautiful here today. I DON'T want to be indoors doing paper work all day, but I needed a break. If I can get done before lunch, I will have the rest of the day to play. (After I finish laundry, pay bills and straighten up! LOL) I bought a Winsor Pilates tape and mat yesterday. I have been having back aches lately and someone at Curves suggested Pilates. I know my aches are from bending over little ones all day. Some days I feel like I just can't straighten up. I am hoping that Pilates helps. My new printer is a MFP - a scanner, a copier and a printer all in one. I printed out some pictures I had taken on my digital camera and they came out great. I needed to make a copy of a receipt for a rebate and voila - I had a copy. I have to play around with scanning photos now and see how that works. I think I got a great deal for my $$$. (((HUGS))) for all those that need them. I know I missed some important events last week, but I just don't know where the time went. I was never so glad to see Friday come. The kids were wound up, we had a sub all week for Beth and I just didn't feel up to par. I am hoping that this week gets off to a better start. I think we all should have gone with Raeanne to Cancun!!! I could use some R&R. Now I have to hang up a load of laundry and locate some papers for taxes. Later, Marci...See MoreGood morning-Saturday
Comments (1)Morning! The weatherman predicted rain for the rest of the week until Memorial Day, but I didn't see a drop yesterday and today the sun is out and it's already 50 so I'm thinking it's gonna be a nice day. My DH, Dad and brother are taking my 3 oldest kids out skeet shooting today. I'm staying home with the youngest and I'm gonna see if my DM wants to go to the TS. ha Being from the South I grew up around guns and knowing how to shoot. My DH, Dad and brothers are all big hunters. I just surprised myself that I did so well after not having shot one in so long. Been like 10+ years. My DD is wanting to go hunting with her dad so she needs to get familiar with guns this summer and of course she'll have to go thru the gun safety course. I did see Bebe's post. Sounds like neither rain, nor sleet, nor kidney stone will keep her from her convention. hahaha She's gonna have so much fun. Must be some weird cosmic phenomena....my kids let me sleep in this morning too. ha I made it til almost 9am! I was tired too cause we didn't get home until after midnight last night. We went out to eat and to see the new Indiana Jones movie, then stopped for ice cream on the way home. A lady was having problems with her car in the parking lot and we stopped to help her so that's why we were home so late. I hear my mom coming up the stairs so I need to go see if she's interested in going with me to the TS. I'll let you know if I get any good finds. ha Have a great Saturday! Did the tornado warnings pass? ~Anj...See MoreIdaClaire
