Coronavirus Response: Hospitals Rated Best, News Media Worst

HU-885118952

As CNN is now dumping Trump's and Pence's coronavirus briefings, even as Dr. Birx comes to the microphone to speak.

The media's only weapon left in their Destroy- Trump arsenal is to cut Americans off from his message, even if that very information could mean the difference between life and death.

As Andrew Mitchell, live and on-air, teeters on the verge of a panic attack, eyes wide and voice trembling, reporting that Trump's approval numbers are "skyrocketing".

Bottom Line

"Americans are largely approving of how U.S. institutions and leaders are responding to the coronavirus situation.

Hospitals are held in the highest regard during this health crisis, consistent with the high trust and ethical ratings medical and health workers receive in normal times.

The global health pandemic is far from over, and many more challenging decisions on how to handle it will need to be made, both in the near and the long term. How leaders -- from Washington to state capitals to everyday workplaces -- act in the coming months will greatly affect people's lives, and will likely shape Americans' confidence in societal institutions long after the outbreak is under control."

This poll was taken PRIOR to the Pelosi debacle this week. It will be interesting to see the public's take on that. And the House STILL hasn't voted!

per the New York Post.

President Trump’s daily White House coronavirus briefings are a ratings hit.

The president, who has taken the lead in the task force’s daily updates to the nation, has attracted an average audience of about 8.5 million viewers on cable news — about the number of viewers who watched the season finale of “The Bachelor,” The New York Times reported on Wednesday, citing Nielsen numbers.

And as the outbreak continues to surge across the country and more Americans abide by shelter-in-place orders in a number of states, the viewership is increasing.

Monday’s briefing drew 12.2 million people on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News, ratings similar to those of “Monday Night Football.”

Compare that to Joe Biden’s last event, where he drew just 2800 viewers to his live stream.

I don't think you could combine the MSDNC's viewership and get the number of people who are tuning into the coronavirus updates from the White House.

Not everyone follows politics as closely as we do here. I'd wager there are some who've not had the inclination or time to chase down which side's arguments are more valid, in the controversy between Trump and the press.

Now, they're sitting home, and they get to see it unfold daily, in front of their eyes. They get to make their own choices about Trump's behavior at the pressers, and the behavior of the reporters.

His approval numbers are marching steadily upward.

Whatever could be causing this?

Hmmmm.

Elizabeth Harrington@LizRNC

Very important point from Dr. Birx

Models with zero controls lead to inaccurate projections and unnecessary fear

"That is nowhere close to the numbers you see people putting out there. I think it has frightened the American people."

No wonder the MSDNC media cut away from the information from the doctors and scientists.

Yeah, not everyone follows politics as closely as we do here. Maybe they don't realize he is telling them lies and misinformation. They also probably think many of the actions being taken by governors are his doing. Lots of very stupid, uninformed people.

"Lots of very stupid, uninformed people."

so very true. But fortunately, briefings are helping educate them.

Yup, people are being educated about how they've been sadly misinformed by the main stream media. (MSM: Quick, stop covering the task force pressers!)

briefings are helping educate them.

That's why I listen to Newsom and Garcetti when they address the public.

mudhouse, Trump made it abundantly clear he wasn't going to suffer the MSDNC fools in his briefings, so what did they do? Took their ball and went home.

If they can't preen and misbehave for personal jollies during briefings, then no one can see the briefings.

If the MSDNC media have any reason to believe something will present Trump favorably, it does not get covered. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with getting information out to the American people. It has EVERYTHING to do with resistance activism to push their anti-Trump agenda. Shameful. However, they have proven countless times that they are beyond shame.

If you're lying, shading, grandstanding, boasting, propagandizing, attacking, as Trump has been doing daily, why should a reputable news org cover it?

It's fake news!

The number of surviving reputable news organizations is fast approaching the number of dodo birds; I'm not optimistic about the survival of the species. But it's okay; people have learned how to find their information from sources other than the TV at dinner time. Or at least, how to supplement that information. Thank goodness.

Example of stupidity was someone on our mayor's fb page complaining that the mayor should do something about FEMA workers sitting to close. Even after I told her FEMA was directed by WDC she still insisted I had a lump between my ears. Not certain where she saw FEMA people in this metro area.
