How much would you have to lower the house? My builder says 3 feet above street level is his "minimum" so you don't look like you are building down in a hole. I don't think 5 stairs would be that much more inconvenient than 3 but it sure does take up a bunch of space! Do they run straight down into a garage bay? or do you have a landing and then you turn? Either way - lots of room either width wise or length wise and be super sure you have at least 20' (most would say more) from the bottom of the steps to the garage door. . . and now that I am typing you have to leave room to walk in front of the stairs so be sure you have that all worked out (and you measure your car) to be sure it will fit!

I'm doing some second-guessing. The photo does not show positive pitch away from the house. It looks more like level or even slightly pitched toward the house in the 8' or 9' beyond the foundation. It needs to be a positive downward slope away form the house. The drainage around the house would occur outside of the deck, not below it. Given that you're immediately into a hill sloping the wrong way, there's not room to create a swale in the present configuration. A low wall could move the hill back 3' and provide room for the swale. I realize people in this situation slap all kinds of band-aids on the problem. It can work to a degree, but usually it's not pretty. If you end up piping water, you'll need to size the pipe for what comes in a massive rain, not a light sprinkle. I would choose 6" over 4". But then again, I can't see the hill and don't know your area.

The table and chairs look as if they were designed to go together. If you like the table with its glass top, go for it. From what i can tell from the 3d (which isnt much at all), if you get rid of it, it would result in a vwry circuitous stairs. Enter facing the wall, up mayve two steps to a landing, turn 90*, then up a few more steps to a wide landing, turn right 90* and walk the landing, then turn left 90*, and up the remainder of the stairs as drawn. phew dont know that i would want that.
