Comments (13)view from the bedroom versus kitchen I am a firm believer in having the view from the room that is used the most. We have east and south views of the mountains and lake. We have it from our kitchen and dining room. The whole family enjoys it every day. If the views were from the bedroom, it would be limited to one room only. Not only that, in the mornings when the view is most spectacular with sunrises, we would not be able to enjoy it since we would be eating in the kitchen where there was no view if the view was limited to the bedroom. I think when you actually live with the view, you give it to the spaces that you use most often. I would put the room that you will use most in the best view side. For example, if you see yourself working there, put your desk out to the view. We see the mountains and lake every day as we eat our breakfast. Half of the year, our dinners also have views. (in the winter, it is too dark outside) We just looked at a house where the view was limited to the living room and bedrooms. (A very old house where the kitchen was hidden in the back). We would not change the way we live where the view was limited to tiny portions of the day.... We would see this as losing view even though the view from the living room is more spectacular that what we have. This is what you learn as you live with the view.... BTW, I have woken up in bedrooms that had spectacular views. It is lovely.... But the entire house had spectacular views... Not just the bedroom! ....IMHO...See MoreNeed advice for decorating a studio apartment using this sofa

Comments (41)Looks like a NYC apartment! Here's a floor plan to consider. A four poster bed will create an invisible wall around the bed without blocking it off. The position of the bed should have the headboard on the back 115" wall. This way you can embellish luxurious bedding and good sized nightstands. With your sofa in the middle of the room, it makes the room even smaller. The furniture layout shown opens everything up with good wall space for art. That one window should be a fantastic window treatment, as it is the first thing you see when entering the room and it will balance the bed area. Position the dresser to the side of the sofa facing the bed. Suspend art or a large mirror facing the bed as it will also serve as an entrance "foyer". What's through the French doors? I'm assuming it's the eating area and kitchen. Very cute studio....See MoreYouTube Studio Paint Dilemma
Comments (4)Not sure on the colors beyond disappearing-product black or stark white - many neutrals could work that match your personal preference. Thinking about videos from my own perspective, I appreciate a background that pertains to the subject - know your audience. So maybe a camo backdrop, and just plywood surface for overhead technical stuff (presents a "workbench" vibe). I might not click if I see candles, curtains, or baby blues (though pink camo would be cool), because that tells me it might be a one-off video for the info I am looking for, whereas a pertinent background tells me the Youtuber lives this stuff, might be an expert, and I might want to watch other videos I didn't know I needed (subscribe!). For example, on car stuff, I will click on a dude with his car jacked up in the street if nothing else is available. But if I compare vid matches, I will always click on the vid where the car is in a shop on a lift. Of course colors and backdrop don't ever matter if you have a shtick or personality where nobody even notices anything but you....See MoreBrooke Reed
