Plants that tie it all together
Comments (18)Maisie, I (third) the recommendation for Veronica 'Georgie Blue' or even another one that I also have ('Waterperry Blue') because these are such marvelous plants. They grow gently over and around everything but still allow their neighbors to emerge and grow. Plus they're so easy to transplant. Mine have finished blooming but still look great, and in the fall their leaves have a red tinge, which is nice. Russian Sage is also another strong performer and is easily rooted if you want to create more plants. Take a stem, lay it down in the dirt, cover it with soil so that it will root, then transplant the new stalk in the fall. Mine also produce underground runners that can be dug up and replanted. Nhbabs is correct... RS will provide a wave of shape and color throughout the growing season, even when it's not in bloom. When I look at that garden, I can "see" an S-curve planting of Pervoskia that cuts through the center of your garden. It starts at the top left by the pink Echinicea, curves left then right down to the Russian Sage that's there, swings right to the blue plant, and then goes left behind the taller Sedum at the bottom to the end of your garden. You don't actually need a complete line of these plants to create a "line" in the viewer's eye, but the others are correct... a line of these will help tie together your garden. I do agree that a repetition of the blue grey from the Russian Sage is needed in the lower tier of this garden ... maybe with a sedum or thyme that spreads, but also include other plants that you love. I've posted an earlier photo of the end of our dry garden because it includes a Veronica 'Waterperry Blue' (in bloom behind the white rock) and several Sedums . The thing about plants ... they can always be moved if you don't like them. Have fun! Molie...See Moreliving room rug to tie room together
Comments (3)thank you- so you think I should stick with the blues and grays and not try to bring in new colors with a statement rug?...See MorePaint color to tie it all together?
Comments (16)dmac1108. Wow huge project! So glad you found a color that works for you and you love. The gray color we have is Repose Gray, and I do love it a lot! It is also in my sons room. My husband fell in love with the Kuka sectional we have, and I get that with the gray couch plus gray walls it was too much. Also after googling pain’t colors a whole bunch I read something about how you want your exterior and interior to be somewhat on the same page, and I over thought it and felt I needed to pick something that harmonizes and ties exterior and interior together. Thank you so much for weighing in, and I hope the painting goes smoothly for you all!!...See MoreI cannot get my living room put together. Please help!
Comments (21)Here is the link for this rug: https://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-interspersed-greyscale/Natural/200SSND01A-76096.html A number of rug sites have a visualizer tool that you can use to try out rugs in your space. Rugs.com, RugsUSA.com., esalerugs.com, and there are others. The tool is very easy to use. But even with the visualizer tool, when purchasing rugs online, still best to get smallest size first, to check for color, texture, etc. Do what works best for you. The drop down tv mounts can work well. Nothing wrong with your current setup, though - nor with your curtains, for that matter. But if you decide to keep current rug, just go with different curtains. All depends on what you want to do. Your space. 👍...See MoreBev
