Calls for stop to social distancing - what director of JHC has to say

nhb_6

To drop all these measures now would be to accept that COVID pts will get sick in extraordinary numbers all over the country, far beyond what the US health care system could bear

Anyone advising the end of social distancing now, needs to fully understand what the country will look like if we do that. COVID would spread widely, rapidly, terribly, could kill potentially millions in the yr ahead with huge social and economic impact across the country

Before considering big changes to social distancing measures now, we should as quickly as possible get to strongest possible position for COVID response – we're no where near that now. We'll need rapid Dxs in place almost every location where a pt can be seen for care

Those are the people that we need to listen to now!

I have a very bad feeling about what direction people will choose to take.

Someone close will have to die- or someone will have to come close to dying themselves- before minds change.

This should only be considered after we have the ability to test millions of people, letting those with acquired immunity return to the community after they are no longer infectious.

Right now we don't even have enough tests or personnel to identify people WITH the virus.

We are a nation of children. "Why aren't we THERE yet?"

Report today is that China is seeing a few new cases, brought in with travellers. This could go round and round and round until we all learn a hard lesson.

Controlling this locally and federally is important, and if you are worried more about the economy it is even more important.

Which country will let in anyone from another that has active cases? The sooner we eliminate this the sooner we all can find some semblance of a normal life.

We should only hear from - and follow the advice of - qualified professionals regarding this pandemic. Why anyone would listen to Dr. Tiny Hands in the first place escapes me.

The big problem isn't 'out there'. It's in the USA. Doing this state by state is ridiculous. (Same problem with gun control, but *please* don't take off on that.)

Put DJT in an aquarium; Jared and Mnuchin will be sprinkling that “game changer” chemical over its surface. Game Changer

Face-to-face talking spreads the virus, especially from asymptomatic people --- who are not coughing or sneezing.

Every time you speak, tiny spittle droplets which may contain the virus are emitted.

Limiting face-to-face contact works. Period. Unless you can meet and not talk.

Note: A simple cloth in front of the speaker's mouth stops the droplets that accompany all speaking.

The virus particles are too small, they get through cloth. There needs to be a filter with smaller apertures, or multiple filters.
