Who has kids and dogs and marble bathroom floors? xpost bathrooms
Comments (1)I Crema de marfil (sp) 12x12 tiles in my master bath. Love the looks of the floor when it was new and still do in some places. IMHO, with vanity chair, kids, dogs, cats, Make up, after shave, etc, it just did not hold up well at all in the heavy traffic areas. My daughter spilled nail polish remover and it ruined an area of the tile. The least expensive quote to repolish 80sf was $650. I'll retile with something more duable for that price than spend it on repolishing every so many years. It may work for some. It did not work for us. But it is pretty. Here are pics when it looked good...See MoreRemoving a Stubborn Ceramic Tile from Bathroom Wall
Comments (3)More likely a real hardware store. They are usually about 1/4 inch wide to clean out mortar joints in brick. A big box might have them around the masonry/brick supplies. If you cannot find on a 1/4 inch cold chisel can be made to work, they are just harder to hit firmly....See MoreRemove the yellowness from bathroom wall tiles??
Comments (16)First, I assume this is ceramic tile and grout. If it were my house, I would start with something simple like Comet spray bathroom cleaner, and follow the directions on the bottle: spray and leave it set for a while, and by this, I mean, look at a clock and time it. This is the mistake many people make - they spray and wipe too soon, and they don't leave the product on long enough to work. If that didn't do it, I would move to the professional products. I like the StoneTech line of products, and they have one called the Restore Acid Cleaner, which I used - very carefully - on a shower that I could not get clean. It is amazing! I had to tape off some metal in the shower because it etches. I am sure there are similar products out there from other companies, but this has worked for me. Comments (8)The home was to be completed at the end of November, but it is still being worked on due to various issues. This is a well known reputable builder. Many times when questions are raised, problems are denied or there is a delay in addressing the issues. This wall tiling in the shower covers the walls above two tubs (different bathrooms...both having this appearance). We have this tile in our current home in the kids bath and it is all perfectly flat and has held up beautifully for 10 years. Still looks brand new! We’ve been told by one resource the walls were uneven and not properly prepped so that the tiling was not level. We we’re told by our supervisor that he did not see it??? and wasn’t sure how it appeared that way in the pictures we sent?...See Moredandelion
