Dahlia tubers in containers outside - got rained on a lot.

A couple of days ago I planted some dahlia tubers in pots to them started and I placed them outside in the deck. Their final destination willbe a raised bed in the summer.

Temperature was already in the 60's and 70's so I thought all was good. I watered them because they arrived kind of dry - but right after that, it started raining hard and it never stopped since. Now they are soaked in relatively cool weather. I brought them inside to avoid rotting as it will continue to rain all day tomorrow.

I planted them about 5-6 inches deep. Too deep?

Should I take them out, dry them and plant them a bit less deep?

This is my first time trying dahlias. Thank you for any advice.
