A 20 inch pillow isn't going to be the same as a bed pillow. It's a 20" square. I would definitely go with the down inserts. They make such a difference in how your pillows look. So much better than foam (IMO). I have gotten several at PB (watch for a sale), but look on-line and you may find some at better prices. I've also been lucky enough to pick up a few at places like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc. with down inserts for such a good price (and removeable covers) that it doesn't matter if I use that cover or not - I got the insert for a steal. On my sofa I have two 22" (I believe that's what they are) and two 18". Or maybe it's 18 and 20. I would use different sizes. Also, I forgot to mention - buy your insert larger than your cover. I use a 20" insert in an 18" cover, for example. I also use lumbar pillows. Look at PB online for examples of different shapes/sizes used together. I love pillows and think they make a huge difference in a room. I changed out my sunroom pillows and throw yesterday for a springier/summer look. We're not couch nappers and the pillows on our sofa aren't actually used that much but I love the look. I usually tell friends/guests to just put them out of the way if they bother them. If they like to use them - that's okay too! tina

Your home is beautiful! When I looked at the pic of the sofa wall as a unit, I would just lower the painting a little and add simple vertical sconces to complement it. Since you have a lamp on the table between chairs, plus your ceiling fixture, would it provide enough light with sconces? I suppose you could also add lighting on your buffet piece. We have a "room" off our kitchen that gives me fits trying to arrange. It has a slider to the back yard, too, so that eliminates one wall for furniture. Agree with pillows in the blue tones, with maybe a little pattern for contrast with your sofa. If you put your sofa in front of the window with chairs opposite, would you have enough width to accommodate that? That might be fun to try, too, but you'd probably need to move your painting, or put a narrow console table under it with a lamp on it, so the painting doesn't just float on that wall by itself. as artist said, they are pillow covers, that is all most of them sell nowadays. Amazon does sell the down stuffers for under $10. I love amazon, they are almost always linen &/or cotton. not so with overstock or wayfair - who believe it or not, i just caught them charging more for a pillow cover than joss and main where they got it from. on the other hand, you can get bargains in many places, the one i am about to put up is silk, sold on Houzz, currently -wait for it-$1!

The WS Home ones are very nice quality, with a heavier weight of fabric used, even in the linen. The clearance ones that are final sale may be in their outlets for viewing, or at your local store. I just stumbled across this site in another search and I thought of this thread... has anyone had any experience with them?
