Trying to decide on guest bedroom ideas
Comments (8)I like the 2nd one better. the darker palette seems more in keeping with today's floral trend, whereas the first pic looks like something my grandma would have chosen in the 80s. the scalloped edge doesn't bother me. I think it's because the other items in that room are not very girly. the simplicity of the sisal rug offers a counterbalance. also note how uncluttered the room is in general. as for the wall color, I feel like we need more info. can you post pics of your guest room? I'm curious to know what color the flooring is, and what you're thinking for other accessories....See MoreTeen bedroom & Guest bedroom ideas

Comments (0)I got my headboard, mattress and one of the quilts I was looking at. I feel like I messed up on the mattress I ordered. It's taller than I thought and if I had realized it, I would have ordered a low profile box spring, so more of the headboard would show. My original thought was, if I liked the bedding once I got it, I would order the bigger blue/white shams (picture below). The headboard wasn't that expensive, so I thought down the line I could look for a tall, antique wood headboard. Would you prefer: #1 - pillows flat on the bed so you can see the headboard #2 - the current pillow shams hiding the heading, but about the same height #3 - the current pillow shams along with the taller blue/white shams that stand above the headboard My next question is do any of you add other bedding under your quilts to give if the luxurious look like in the photo above. If so, what do you use? I think I would only be able to add something extra in the winter, but in the summer I'm stuck with more of the flat look. This was a picture someone posted on the Belk website when they reviewed it...pretty, but very flat looking. I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep this quilt, so I've started looking at shower curtains for the guest bath and these are the 3 I found so far. Comments (29)I would remove everything from the room except the bed and the chest of drawers. Select a rug and bedding, then new paint to coordinate with them. Add seating; either a comfy upholstered armchair or a pretty settee, and a luggage rack, which may fit in the closet if there's room. Plan to add a TV and charging station above/on the chest when you get it in place. Consider floating bedside tables to clear floor space. You may be able to use your corded wall lamps above them, but you may need to change the shades. I think your overall furniture vibe leans more masculine than feminine and would try to stick in the middle if possible....See MoreRelated Professionals
