Rug Recommendations
I would like to replace the rug in our master bedroom! I liked the look of the blue when I first started putting the room together, but I’m finding that the chunky jute isn’t wearing well and I don’t think the texture would be very baby friendly as we have one on the way.
It needs to be 9x12 and I’d prefer something affordable rather than a big investment. I would also like to change out the curtains (they were an inexpensive IKEA purchase when we moved in), but everything else will stay as is for a good while. I’m just not sure what direction to take with the rug with the solid bedding and printed bench.
Any suggestions?

Comments (11)This is what i might try a square rug that is placed in the space between the stove, the counter, the yellow line i see on the floor and the wall. however, I would experiment with arranging the furniture like this Push the left half of the modular sofa into the corner. Turn the other half of the sofa so it directly faces the wood stove. Bring the pieces of the modular sofa close enough to each other that you are left with an empty square in the corner where the counter meets the wall. Arrange your tables inside that squar, and plan to put a plant in there as well. Or a two-headed floor lamp. i think i would might buy a black and white rug for that space. 4 years ago@celerygirl it’s ironic you suggested going warmer as I used to have more reds in this room and when I came here asking for help previously was told it was too dark and I should lighten it up... so that was the approach I took with the blue. While the bench does have some warmer tones, it also has this blue color. At this point, my husband has really taken a liking to the blue so it’s non-negotiable but I’m not married to the idea of the rug having to be blue.
@kulrn I have looked at that site and they do have some great prices, but I get so overwhelmed by all the options! Lol

You can go with colors you like.I tried Tranquil Aqua and can not tell I like how it looks. I still think warm tone look better,

I like the idea of adding some rust, too.
