How can we make room for our new addition in our small house?
Comments (2)^Agree with eld6161. First priority is the baby (congrats!). Use one of the secondary bedrooms for the nursery. Next is your husband's gaming space and a distant third is entertaining overnight guests. I know the need to nest is strong, especially during pregnancy, but I don't think taking on the basement rehab now is a good idea. As mentioned above, put those guests on a sofa bed or in a nearby hotel until you get the basement reno done - after the baby is born. Do the basement reno when time and budget permit which may be longer than a couple of years :)...See MoreHi all, need help in decorating our new house. Any advice is appreciate
Comments (8)What a great home you have to start with!! I love the look of modern furnishings in traditional homes, below are some houzz photos that came up with that search. IMO it adds instant warmth and uniqueness. I think sofa and accent chairs will give you more flexability and a more open sight line will be achieved with a low back sofa. I think the art and decor you should take your time with and let it speak to you and your families interests and tastes...is the art modern and artsy, or classic with a love of nature, is it fun and colorful with a nod to the bold. The backs of the built in bookcases could be wallpapered to reflect this too, and lighting will add a huge statement about you and how you want others to feel in your home....See MoreHelp Decorating Our New House in England
Comments (17)I'm not sure the space will even accommodate that layout unless the storage cabinet on the DR wall is only 12" deep. The table would be easier for day to day usage if you can get away with a 42" round table that allows you to add a leaf when necessary. If this is not a forever home, a modest apartment sized sofa with two lounge chairs will offer you more options than the sectional....See MoreDesign and decor help for our new house!
Comments (1)First steps, have the wainscoting taken up the staircase in line with the rest of the room so that it doesn’t just terminate at the edge of the stairs, paint the whole wall, including the wainscoting one color( the white bottom just draws attention to the height, and not in a good way), and change out the stair railing( it is far too plain and farmhouse/ 1980 for your glam intentions)....See MoreLizzie Borden
