So, Great Big Canvas is having a sale of 60% off! I want to know what you all think about this. My foyer wall in question is 66" W x 12' H. I would like to add a large piece of art here. If you know me; then you know I like to repurpose my stuff. In the photos below I show things that hung in my previous home. What I am thinking of doing is using only the frame. I have two pieces. Both different in size. So first; what size should be hung here? From there I would choose art and change the matting. Thank you as always!

I would hang a set of four of wall art.

I have had these saved for the longest time…I saved them when you were thinking about adding art on the console wall…so pretty..love it with the natural wood frame…you could do all four 16 or 20” squares.

Hi Julie, I don't know if you are around or relaxing and enjoying the holiday weekend. When you have a chance, please look the photos I posted. I taped out 16" x 16". The other piece of tape hanging would be 20" higher and wider. I started taping 47" from the bottom of the wall. The height of the wall is 12'.

As you can see I have light switches here. I wasn't sure if I should begin above , below or next to the switch. Would I be best to do 4 pieces? 2 over 2?

What do you suggest?

Maybe one tall vertical but with some width to it or even better yet two vertical and a tall plant at the switch. Or a beautiful wooden tall umbrella stand? Then you wouldn’t have to tend to a plant :).

Julie, Flo, I made a mistake. I didn't listen to your advice. Instead of hanging multiple frames in foyer, I purchased a piece from great big canvas. It's the Garden by Monet that I love. It's the wrong size, the frame is the wrong color and I should have first figured out if I want a bench below it, etc. Great Big Canvas wants me to donate it, or rip a piece of the picture, and send them a photo of a donation receipt or the ripped part of the canvas, then they will refund my money minus shipping.

Should I possibly request a larger picture with a neutral color frame or just start over all together?? Help!!

If you keep adding the same style art..the art you have will look less impactful less important…you need to switch it up.

What paint color is your ceiling?

While I agree with starting over on that wall, is there anywhere else in the house that you can use that art-office, BR etc. Because you have liked it for a while and it is a pretty piece.

Hi kcooz07 I thought it would look good in our bedroom above the bed, but it didn't. Other than that room, there is nowhere else I could hang it. Thank you for that consideration. I really do like this piece. I am going to try to donate it to my library or church. I can't bring myself to destroy it in order to get my refund.

What is the budget?

For the bench, no more than $200.00. Looking for a bench to be pretty, and functional enough to sit down on, remove my shoes, place a package, etc.

I really like the blue upholstered bench…I like the seat height also would add softness…..if you ever changed out the light wood console the blue bench would still work…Yes my search was from Home Depot.

Thank you Julie. The two benches are quite different. I was not sure if the upholstered would look too heavy. But the dimensions are not too big and having storage is always a plus.

I do think the blue will make a statement and the wall art can be a bit more understated above it.
