Mama goose your link title makes me laugh, and thank you! Tishtoshnm, I just looked up Napery, and the color one step up the strip is Dover White! I don't mind a more intense color if it is one I really like, but I am not a huge fan of gold so I too like Napery better than Blonde. Randita - I just ready your post and saw that you already pointed out that Dover White was the next one down from Napery! I love your explanation of the difference between DW and Alabaster - thank you - and I will go look up Comfort Gray now. My current favorite seems to be Revere Pewter, which surprises me as it is a gray, so perhaps I'm heading in that direction. However, I would only go gray without a starkly contrasting trim - more on the soft side (even a little creamy). Thank you everyone!

I have my 1 yo in my lap. Thanks for the help so far. I tried Shaker Beige, Carrington Beige, Bleeker beige, and Putnam Ivory (swatched) when we first moved in and both looked pretty rough. I forget why. Baby turtle is very brown when paired with our light and the blue slate floors. I did a lot of research but every sample pot seemed to be really off for me with the fixed elements we have (blue slate, seafoam carpet, medium-toned woodwork. Uggh...described that way it seems worse than it is LOL, but it really seems to make colors hard to choose!) Subtle would work great in my foyer, but I need to extend the paint up the stairs and into the upstairs hall (it would be tough to transition otherwise I think?). Upstairs it reads *yellow* vs. ivory because there isn't much natural light. So whatever I use downstairs (natural light) seems to look awful upstairs (primarily artificial light/darker overall, same bluey seafoamy green carpet). The greigey tones (which I love in other people's homes!) look not so hot with my medium toned woodwork, that must stay for now (DH rarely gets involved with decorating and he's not ready to say goodbye to the wood work yet. To be honest, I'm not 100% ready either). Ivory tusk looks good in both the foyer and upstairs but I wonder if it will look okay against the subtle in the visible adjoining room. Something seems a little off about it based on looking at the swatch and then looking into the next room. It seems very glowy and reflective in the foyer, which I like :)

Thanks to everyone, we are no where finished but we are getting there. We went with what is real close to BM Georgian, it was something I kept mixing up. Picture below was the dark teal we had. I am attaching what we have done and where we hope to go. We will also be painting the fireplace and brick wall probably the Classic Cream, I think it will really lighten everything up and give us a new look. Picture of the dinning room is my inspiration and that is why I painted the bottom of my entry white, because it will open up to dinning room. My Picture below is not a good picture. Overall it is much lighter. Paint actually has a lot more yellow in the green, than my pictures. I was so afraid of it being dark, I have probably gone to light, most of the room looks like a soft sage. I may do a darker wash over the wall behind the couch. As you can see I am still working on the wall behind the couch, I took down the dark picture and put up a mirror, I want to have shutters on both sides, but not sure if these are the ones. Shutters are turquoise and I am trying to decide if I should keep them, and do I want to paint them white weather also, like the mirror or black or dark red, to pick up the red in room and dinning room. What do you think?Above dinning room is my inspiration, it does appear to be a green with a yellow undertone. Thanks again, for your input.

“Nice landscaping . . . Does anyone have any suggestions?” Jean, on Sunday 12/30, Yardvaark made a request for a set of photos taken closer in from just inside the yard, from one spot opposite the front door, that spans across the whole yard from one side bound to the other. Can you add that so we see the whole span of the front yard? Landscaping isn’t just in front of the house and this photo is a bit too far away for useful landscaping suggestions. For instance, is there a bed between the house and the steps to the left of the door and if so, how deep is it front to back? How is the drive positioned?
