Electrolux slide-in induction range EW30IS6CJS 3 day review
Comments (88)We love this range.... & would buy it again! As with every new appliance, there are new things to become familiar with.... the induction cooktop is very straight-forward (and we had used an induction plate prior to buying this range, so induction wasn't a new concept to us), but the oven seems to maintain more humidity than my old one, but I have learned to use convection more since I last posted... so for things that i want a drier or crisper result, I use the convection option, or open the door a bit to let the extra moisture/steam out. I haven't found it takes noticeably longer to preheat than my old self-cleaning oven, but I see others have complained of this. The oven interior is slightly smaller than my old one, but I've gotten used to that, too, now. I recently used the bread-proof setting which worked like a charm. If I had a wish list, I would put a small hob at the front, since I use the small hobs a lot, and if you are stirring or tending the pot, it is nice not to have to reach back quite so far for an extended period of time. There weren't many choices available in my region when I bought this range. It was either this one or a GE cafe induction range. I'm sure there are more to choose from now, but I'm better with fewer choices, otherwise I'd never be able to make up my mind! Wait for the big sales if you can... stores sells these for $1000 - $1500 off the regular price, & I've seen these big appliance sales more than once each year....See MoreGE Profile Slide-In Induction Range PHS925STSS
Comments (150)First of all, many thanks to 1cubed, writersblock, JWVideo, zacman44 for such quick responses! I've Google searched my way into this forum many times, but never needed to comment or ask questions until now. I do have to say though that the content has always been top notch, and everyone is very helpful! Hopefully I can give back some time! The general feedback here though definitely calms the nerves! In reponse to JWVideo; I actually came across a few reviews specifically for the GE Slide-In Induction Range PHS925STSS, but didn't see any video demos of the issue which is why I asked here, given that there were actual owners who had been living with it commenting on it. Zacman44 comments that flat bottom pans made a difference. Thinking about it, that makes total sense. We'll be getting a new cookset, so I'll make sure to keep an eye out for that. We're in Seattle, and the appliance company (Albert Lee Appliance) has been helpful in the past, so I'll see if they can get it set up to test before we drop the cash for it. I've seen a few other live demos of induction ranges and they look amazing, which is why we are excited to try it out. Again, many thanks for all the helpful comments and seriously quick replies!! I'll post any updates I have when we make the purchase and install one. Thanks!...See MoreInduction Slide-In Ranges?
Comments (11)In the end, we went with the Dacor. Ain't she a beauty?:But seriously, I have no complaints. The cooking is incredibly responsive and the clean-up is just a dream. I do wish that the burners (hobs) were laid out a bit differently, so that we could more easily use larger pots and pans in conjunction with one another. If the hobs were staggered a bit, and the controls for the hobs didn't take up so much space, the cooktop could be used more efficiently. But I've managed to change up the way I structure my recipes so that in the end it works out. Having read my original post, I notice I was worried about the placement of the controls for the oven... that has not been an issue in the least. The buttons for the oven are clearly marked and there's no bending down needed to find what you need. One luxury feature on this range that I really enjoy are the easy-glide oven racks. Don't know that this feature would lead me to make a completely different choice, but I've never had them before and I'm loving them. Hope that helps!...See MoreRecommendations on 30" slide in range induction top & duo oven
Comments (3)I would not get a Samsung, based on what I've heard and read about their reliability and repair issues. Of the other two, the KitchenAid you've linked to is not a slide in model (actually a free-standing model), but that's a design issue that might not matter to you. One of the things I don't like for myself is the arrangement of "burners" on the GE -- I prefer larger pots at the back and smaller ones near the front. It might be different for others, of course. Still, I prefer the look of a slide in (controls on the front) and I like the linked elements; also, the GE elements are a little more powerful (eg broil). I'd go with the GE if you're looking for a dual oven induction range....See Moreenelsonm
