Comments (6)I think the only thing that exploded on me was a tube of refrigerated bisquits that had been in the hot car and then we sat the bags on the counter and bang! Of course it had to be at the top of the bag and it went every where....I was finding little pieces of dough, days later........ Kind of funny, but when it happened I actually thought someone was shooting at me...I didn't know wheter to duck or faint.........See MoreAnother FUNNY thread from the archives

Comments (27)Yes, I am a southpaw! How did you guess? ;) So its nothing really big but I had to share with my GW friends (this is, or was GARDENweb right?!?) I finally have the start of a garden again after almost 5 years without one!! Today I planted several vinca, some blue plumbago, a few dragons blood sedum, a lantana, a queen Victoria lobelia and a Texas mountain Laurel!! I had forgotten how satisfying it is to have a pretty plot to tend to and look at. They are all deer resistant so hopefully they will survive!! Off topic but has anyone seen Christine (CEFreeman)? I haven't seen her post since last week and I wonder if she is OK....See Morecold winter; what annuals to plant right now for pop of color
Comments (8)Colorful today in my yard -- all (but hypoestes... we'll see) have been good investments - survivors: Kalanchoe - potted, several years old, intensely colorful; buds show color when cool starts and have kept going to a full riot of color. Dwarf azaleas (the ones bought blooming from florists which I've praised here before - last for years and bloom with any cool turn of the weather) although just a few blossoms at a time per bush. Polka dot plant (Hypoestes) planted before cold days, keeps getting larger and more colorfully pink and green. This is the only plant in my list today that may be an annual or not reseed - in my yard. Red salvia. Leaves get brownish spots but new leaves replace... flowers don't suffer at all. Golden cosmos blooming again after 2 weeks watching slow-drying seed heads on brown stalks, now, boom, new flowers. Tropical milkweed, yellow, and yellow + red. Yellow chrysanthemum (dwarf? like a ground cover), flush of blooms almost gone, but hoping for a 2nd flush. Very hardy in semi-shade through hot summer. Cape honeysuckle - those getting more sun have been blooming, older one in shade today is starting. Bleeding heart (purple + red) - does best blooming in cool....See MoreMarilyn Sue McClintock
