Hi funcolors or whom ever is reading, I think I am catching on...recommending pumice/lighter color will compliment the white couch and give a nice balance. Where... if I were to go with Moondance/darker color with more saturation, the contrast would be greater and the white couch would then become more of a focal point. To keep the mural the focal point, staying a lighter color would put the focal where it needs to be and balance the couch in the room more? So, if I were to put a refinished piece of furniture directly across from the mural wall that will have the couch against it. I am guessing I would want to do a color with a bit more saturation to anchor the room or balance it? I haven't painted it yet...still trying to figure out color the right way. Maybe the depth of Moondance or a bit darker? Or would I want to do a very light color to keep the room light and airy with not to much contrast against the paint on that side of the room. I am guessing darker? Not super dark, maybe a medium depth of color? Thinking maybe: Hmm, actually I am not sure. Semi-gloss for sure, using Pumice on the walls and it being a warm color, my carpet being cool, I am guessing a cool tone, one of the medium colors pulled from the mural? Or a nice rich medium brown? Suggestions? Color sure isn't easy when you want to get it right. It is a console/chest/buffet style piece. Flat screen will be wall mounted over it and decor on top of it. You've gotten good advice here. One fan will be plenty for your room. You might even consider adding a light to the fan to provide overhead lighting when needed instead of recessed lights. You could install switched outlets for lamps or wall sconces for your ambient lighting, which is nicer to relax with than recessed lights, unless you put them on dimmers. There would be money saved if you skip the recessed lights and dimmer switch. We rarely use our recessed lights to have accent lighting at night, or to watch television. The spaces between the furniture are too tight to walk through the room with a platter of food or to pull out a chair at the table. You already figured out that the French doors and step are inoperable against the back of the loveseat. How much are you able to extend the length of your room? With a fixed width the 1'4" behind the sofa(loveseat) is too small to walk through. Could you push it back against the wall? Your table area is too tight to pull out a chair with 2' and 2'4" on some sides. Is it possible to use a smaller table for four instead of six? Using a smaller round table with chairs at 2 o'clock, 4 o'clock, 6 o'clock and 8 o'clock may work instead of pushing them back against the walls. One or two club chairs angled close to the corners of the French doors might work instead of the loveseat at the entrance. You have done a great job drawing the room and measurements. I don't have a program to help you try out different furniture, but hope some sweet soul will come along to assist you. As it looks the room is not large enough to carry out two rooms of furniture, unless you can expand your length. It will be fun watching your progress. This will be a lovely addition to your home.

I assumed that since both switches were in the same box that they were on the same breaker. Wrong. Last night I decided to give up on finding a solution at least for awhile. I only use this light about 4 times a year. In the middle of the night, I began to think what if it is on another breaker. We have 2 200 amp breaker boxes- one in an upper garage and one in the basement garage in the tool room. This morning, I checked the upper garage breaker box for the umpteenth time. Everything was turned on. I went to the 200 amp breaker box in the lower garage. A breaker was off. It was not labeled. I turned it on. I went upstairs and flipped the switch-the bulb came on and in a split second went out. I have no clue as to why the bulb went out so suddenly. I replaced the bulb with another 45 watt bulb and so far so good. All of the other first floor lights are on the upper garage breaker box. I had no reason to think that each switch in the same switch box was on a different breaker and a completely different breaker box. I think the initial positive reading I received with the voltage detector pen must have been a mistake as the voltmeter always registered 0. I have labeled the breaker as going to this can light. When the house was being built, the electrician forgot to label some of the breakers or forgot to label all the lights on a breaker. Several breakers were marked incorrectly. Over the past years, I would spend time turning breakers off to see what went where so I could label everything correctly. This one I probably forgot to turn back on as I do not use it often- thought the bulb had burned out and assumed the recessed can was on the same breaker as the chandelier. I access the upper breaker box 99 percent of the time and only need to turn off items in the lower breaker box maybe once a year. Thanks for all of your help!!

No - start by adding some artwork, lighting and other accents to break up all the brick. I would never paint natural surfaces (wood, stone, brick) that are in decent shape. It's a beautiful home - don't ruin it.
