You are into the most crowded segment of the upholstered furniture industry. There are hundreds of companies that make upholstered furniture that retails at the price range you are looking at. Don't expect to find 8 way hand tied coils at your budget. But you should be able to get a sofa and love seat with kiln-dried hardwood frames, high-density foam cushions and sinuous coils for $1500. There are so many companies out there that can fit your requirements that I don't know where to start recommending. I will warn you, however, of a few things to avoid. Stay away from Ashley Furniture, probably the largest single manufacturer and retailer of upholstered furniture, unless you really want one of their $399 sofas. Their more expensive offerings are still junk underneath. The other warning I have is to stay away from leather at that price range. Leather offerings at that price come in 2 different categories: first are the sofas that are made with "bycast" leather that is basically little pieces of scrap leather that has been chopped up and glued back together. The mill cost is for bycast is about the same as a medium-low grade of fabric. The second category of leather to stay away from is genuine leather sofas. For a manufacturer to afford to put real leather on a sofa at that price means that they have to cheat on the insides. You will be getting a $399 quality sofa with a nice piece of leather on the outside. I am not terribly impressed with IKEA's upholstered furniture offerings. I think their case goods are a much better value. Microfibers can be great. Just remember that there are different grades. See if your salesperson will let you feel a swatch of the fabric. Some microfibers are very thin while others have some weight to them. It can be very difficult to tell the difference when the fabric is made up on a sofa, until you have had it in your home for a year or two and start noticing the thinner fabric wearing out.

When buying upholstered furniture a sofa is always your best value. In fact from a wholesale perspective there can be as little as a $50-$100 difference between them and I will tell you why. At the trade shows, primarily the twice a year High Point market, April and october or the Vegas market manufacturers like to quote low sofa prices as they show you their wares. I have been to many markets, over 60 High Point Markets, where you will be lead around the showroom with the rep quoting sofa wholesale or in some cases retail prices, $699, $799, $899, $999. It's so boring. What they never quote are the love seat and chair prices where the manufacturere is making their mark up. My advice buy two sofas. I think it looks better and you are getting more value.

well, when I said I wasn't too good with the camera, I was hyping my camera skills. I wish I knew how to do this better- I am posting the pix I took, but they are lousy. The colors don't show well at all, and it's hard to see the details. I guess what matters is that I think it looks great- (and feels wonderful to sit on a nice, firm but not too firm cushion and back). I just draped the swatch on the sofa, and it really is the same. It's very strange, because the pillow fabric in REAL LIFE and LIGHTING, is only a tad darker than the sofa (and looks great on it_--- but in the photo it looks like night and day difference). Well maybe tomorrow I will get a better likeness. Also the nailheads don't show up too well and in real life are definitely there but are rather understated a I got antiqued brass.

OK, Priya - I have done two layouts. Your main problem is maintaining "walkways" through your space. Plus the TV being in the far corner is challenging for sure. These are two approaches for your review. We like to keep 3' passing/walkways through spaces, about 18" from front of sofa edge to a coffee table and at least 2' between chairs and other furniture such as sofas. The first layout puts the TV on a console along the long wall. this provides easy walk space and a chaise or bench in front of the fireplace provides additional seating to watch TV or sit by a fire. I couldn't read the tiny print too well on your drawing, but did the best I could to scale it to the main seating area. The Scale is 1/4"=1' or each little square is equal to one square foot. I put a sofa table behind the 84" x 44" comfy sofa and one or two lamps could sit on that sofa table. I didn't have a good idea of where that window is along that wall but it looks on the drawing like it is roughly across from the long wall. The coffee table is 44 x 22 which allows walking space from sofa around the space.
