These houses are beautiful. When I edit my house picture to color it green it still doesn't look too great... Maybe I need more variety in texture and trim?

I would make the posts bigger. They look very small. I would framed the windows more so they stand out a bit and then paint. Add some landscaping and curb appeal with something on your porch.

Jen, that green looks too "pea soup" to me with too much yellow. You need a sage green that's more of a gray/green. Maybe someone here can do a mock up for you. Wish I was better with that!

Beige is not my favourite but you have a bright roof so maybe it’s a good option. Our old house had a clay roof but it was dark...

Landscaping, potted plants or hanging plants, depending on how deep your porch is a little seating area.

Do you need that paved front yard? How about busting that out and doing a simple grass and paver drive? Maybe you should shoot for more of a Mediterranean look with some green for the accent. Crisp Romaine or Verdigris are great green colors.

I'm no designer (or landscaper) and think decoenthusiaste has some great suggestions, so I've had a little fun trying to draw in a few things, I like your house. So this is just for fun to share.

Decoenthusiast: I just looked up grass and paver drive and it looks amazing. How is the maintenance for that? Does it need regular mowing? Also - I live in California and we have a drought most of the time so I'm not sure how difficult it would be to water/maintain

Another question: I have that large concrete area on the left of the driveway. Can I make any use of that? For more context: I have small kids, we're friends with our neighbors and like to hang out in the front, and the weather is good most of the year (California)

I think a cream paint colour would go well with your roof tile. And I would go with all wood accents. Wood shutters, wood posts, wood front door, wood garage door. Paint your white trim dark brown or a colour close to wood tone and paint your window trim black. The posts need to be bigger and chunkier. And you only need 2 instead of 3 if you go bigger. I didn't have time to add landscaping to the pic but add BIG pots of planters to the porch area and add a garden in front of your garage. I would remove the small triangular garden on the left side of your driveway.

Yes indeed! Your house had good bones. The tile roof gives it kind of a classic Mediterranean look. Take your cue from that and run with it.

Jen, I like the photo of the original color you had in mind. Your house is more or less a Mediterranean style with the reddish tile roof, and the white walls would set off the roof color beautifully. I would suggest shutters that match the roof color. If you do want a dark wood tone, use that on the door and perhaps on flower boxes under the windows. I would suggest you get larger porch columns and center them better so that a post is not blocking the front window. There is room to have two posts framing the window and then the door and its pathway.

A lot of three comments here mention wood garage door, front door, shutters, etc. I live in a very sunny area and wanted to know if there are materials (faux wood?) or wood finish that won't fade in the sun.
