The second sure looks like stiltgrass, Microstegium vimineum, to me. Stiltgrass is a major invasive in some places so keep pulling whatever you can, and don't let it go to seed. It does respond to specific herbicides as well.

Great, so it looks like Dimension should help prevent it and Dicamba should theoretically work for whatever manages to comes up.

The Dimension should help fight the stilt grass as well. If too much emerges to pull, fenoxaprop (Bayer crab grass killer) should work. For anyone following along here are some other notes I found on Rutgers site:

Do not mix fenoxaprop with the broadleaf weed herbicides, 2,4-D or MCPP, (or apply within 21 days following application of 2,4-D or MCPP or 5 days before
2,4-D or MCPP application. Treated turf should not be mowed within 24
hours of application to allow penetration and translocation into the
grassy weeds. Fescues and ryegrass can be reseeded at any time following
application of fenoxaprop. Reseeding of all other turf grasses should
be delayed at least 21 days after application.

Next question is, are people doing pre-emergents early this year because of the warm winter? I'm starting to see some yellow emerge on the forsythia along the highway. I understand stilt grass needs to be treated a couple of week earlier, so I'm guessing now is a good time...?

If the forsythia is yellow, it's time for the pre-emergent. If you even think the forsythia is yellow, it's time for the pre-emergent. :-) Some like to argue about what constitutes yellow on the forsythia, but the simple answer is, "The first hint of yellow counts as yellow."

At that point, soil temps are averaging at least 45 and rising...fast.
