Comments (16)Hey Sean, thanks for showing that greenhouse I will go the website to see if they will ship one to Europe. I have never seen that kind of greenhouse here. My brother will help me extending mine next year and we did a little digging to see what we could do. I might end up moving it to fit in one 3 times bigger. My brother says it's way too small what do you think? I might squeeze a few more plants in there and as long as I still fit in there too it's all good ;0) It's an alluminum frame with thermo Polycarbonate windows and it's quite warm now but a high pressure steamcooker in the summertime. You can fire golfballs at it without harming it and it stand good druing hurricanes that will say I have had a few windwos ripped out of there but you just put them back in again when you have picked them up at the neighbours property. I didn't have the heart to cut of leaves yet so sad to see your leaves on the ground. My predator mites has kept down the spider mites all summer. And yes 22 days back and the light will come back for the new season with even more cuttings, flowers and colours....See MoreCQ June Bday block pics

I am going to go through my mags to see if I can find it. Those blocks have inspired me to try a wall-hanging.-after all my ufos are done, of course,LOL. Thanks so much for sharing. ~Geraldine...See MoreEden climbing rose
Comments (100)A little late to the conversation, and I don't know what your soil is like, Lesli, but you might find alfalfa to be a lot cheaper in your area sold as horse feed. I'm not sure I would go to the trouble of making it into a tea -- from your description, your soil might appreciate it as a compost amendment. You could also look into digging in some green sand which might cover a lot of your micronutrient needs if the plants look a little anemic. And of course, Epsom Salts are very cheap at any drug store, for the nominal amount you might require, if magnesium is an issue. I wouldn't think a little epsom salt could hurt, as long as you don't overdo it. *Some* amendments can set you back more than the darned roses did in the first place! Ben's garden is absolutely spectacular -- probably the most spectacular I've seen in our region -- but you probably don't need to be quite so feeding-happy to have a happy garden. (You are likely to end up with proliferation in some of your blooms, and might have to beat back some of your plants if you get *too* crazy with the feedings! LOL.) Cutting peaches *before* handling Milorganite was probably a good call, BTW. ;-) (Ben, do you lay off your feeding regimen when the summer heat comes, or do you have to water your plants heavily to keep them humming along? I have historically tended to encourage my plants to rest to avoid stressing them too much in summer, but I also try not to irrigate more than I absolutely have to.)...See MoreThe "I don't have room" rose wishlist....
Comments (34)It's a different mind set to be in, I'm still acquiring new plants too with reportedly unusual characteristics (eg Devonenis and its slight darkening yellow in UV) which makes the task of deciding what to remove a little more tricky (simply due to numbers)...but it's exciting to have made progress and to have plants you know will be used to make a next generation. The other tricky mental barrier is many of the plants I feel like I can remove are ones that are praised breeders online but I just get runts or very average plants from (ie Carefree Beauty seedlings just dont want to live regardless of other parent, Rise N Shine never anything exciting just a lot of pale pale yellows, Gemini poor root systems leading to death as soon as hot temperatures come in Gemini itself often dies back to the crown in extreme temps, etc)....just leaves you thinking youre doing something wrong when others routinely praise them...See MoreVaporvac Z6-OhioRiverValley
