My very own bookcase! (many pics)
Comments (53)Hey Williamsburg Jane, I don't know what became of that little wooden church I built for the school project, but as of three years ago, that "teacher" had risen up through the ranks quite well. Guess when you assume your students are liars you can advance quickly? ;) Today, I went up into the attic and dug out some old books stuffed into boxes. It's so nice to have all my books out in the open! Thanks again for the lovely compliments. I nearly chickened out on this project at countless intervals, because I thought, "I'll just let my husband finish this," and then I thought, "Nope. I want this to be my own work, even if it ends up looking like something Homer Simpson built." I really do think most women are far more capable than they give themselves credit for....See MoreNew look for a little bookcase
Comments (28)Thanks Ladies, glad you like the videos. Cliff is an avid gardener, he just loves it. Since we have so many oaks surrounding us, he has trouble growing roses, so he planted knock out roses in pots and carries them around following the sun...LOL Nancy, where our pond is now we had a small swimming pool it was small 12' x 20' ... we decides to remove it after the kids grew up, so naturally a pond was in order. the system is a DIY bottom drain gravity fed system, complete with a 200 gallon biological pond that helps keep the main pond clear. If you decide on another koi pond you can email me and I'll give you the pond plans and diagrams. koi are amazing creatures, I never dreamed the were so tame and people friendly. this is a view from, the back, I call it 'Back of the Moon' This is my favorite photo 'The Hound and The Chipmonk' see the chipmonk leaning on the rock staring at the hound?...See MoreHelp with bookcase styling
Comments (23)HI -- The shelves / bookcase is small so I think less is more . You did a good job but I think there is too much per shelf --- sorry . Less items and more related items instead of mixed . Just because they are called bookcases , you do not need to load them with books . I would not have books on these small shelves . Books can go on that very bottom section . Do you have a collection or similar items in color or kind ? Top shelf should be one big item on each side . Find something long and low for that center opening . ( Designtescano.com ) I think having a dark or charcoal/black color behind the TV will hide the TV more . And the same in the back of the shelves will show off the items too. There is also an LED light that goes behind the TV and it changes colors too that shows off the wall --- it's cool and fun about $ 24 ....See MoreHow to build a floor to ceiling bookcase in a very uneven old cottage?
Comments (7)I wonder if the removal of the wall is contributing to the saggy ceiling. In our kitchen the ceiling was uneven, so the contractor left about an inch of space between the crown molding and the ceiling. He basically made his own ceiling line. In other words, ignore it. Old houses happen. In our previous home, the floors were so uneven that new guests commented and children giggled. The contractor put in a new, perfectly level kitchen. The kickplates were all jigged to match the floor. They looked like a fun house, but the counters were level....See More- 6 years agolast modified: 6 years ago
