The first thing that pops out to me is the red mulch. Are you in the southeastern U.S? I guess it’s commonly accepted there, but to my midwestern eye it’s a garish, unnatural color.

And I like the black shutters and deep red door. It’s a cute house.

Roof color? I tend to agree with celerygirl's suggestion of black that would work nicely with your current siding color. The combination of khaki (or tan) siding with black shutters/door and white trim is often a good one.

Thanks to all with you wonderful comments. I had totally forgot I had posted this. This in our Myrtle Beach home and we had to return to Canada. I will revisit this post when we return in Nov. Thanks again for all the great ideas and pics!

Lol I also agree about the Mulch. Here in Canada I use black. The previous owners of the house in Myrtle used the red so we carried on with the red.

I wish I had remembered this site when we just picked our roof color. It has been replaced since this pic but does not really make a difference from the front as you don’t really see it. In the fall I will post pics with the new roof from the side with the shutter question again. Thanks again for all who answered.
