I've been looking at rods, and I'm thinking of a bronze color to match the rest of the hardware in the house. I'd like find some back-tab linen drapes--I like the simple classic look and they always seem to hang nicely. Tibbrix-I like your idea on the placement/width, that's close to what I was thinking. My only concern with the look of the full length draperies is the top of the window being uncovered--for some reason that bothers me! To me, it looks a little naked and unfinished. So, here's my second question: I've considered a simple matching upholstered cornice board to cover the top of the window frame, with the drapes hung behind it. With this set up I wouldn't need a decorative rod, and could use simple clip on rings on a hidden rod. Is a cornice board too dated? I keep reading the trend is away from grey and toward beige/greige, but who knows. If you are keeping the pink in the bathroom, grey would look nice with it. Are you getting new bedding? I recently saw a color by SW in a friend's house, called Queen Anne Lilac. It was gorgeous and may go with your shell pink. Hard to say, though, without knowing exactly what pink you used. The photos I've seen online of Queen Anne Lilac look a lot more grey than it did in person, and now that I look at your photo again, it might be too close to what you currently have to be a significant change.

That is the only light fixture in the room and one of the reasons why we moved the dresser to that wall. We used to have our large armoire against that wall which covered the light fixture completely (making it very dark in the winter getting dressed in the mornings!). Yes, we have lamps but it doesn't make sense to us to cover up a light source.

Guessing the window is there for curb appeal on the front façade. Have you drawn a mock up to see what that would look like? Sky light /solar tubes add TONS of natural light!! Gotta wonder who the architect was and if it would be cheaper to move the closet so the window is part of the room, than mess with outside walls!!
