Painted oak cabinets - does this look like Edgecomb Gray?
Comments (18)Thanks, loribee and CLBlakey! It turns out we'll need to modify some cabinets and also the apron on my granite counters (who knows what that's hiding) in order to switch out the appliances. The PO remodeled and actually blocked in the appliances when installing the floor and counters after. Crazy. I'm considering whether I want to spend the extra money to make these changes and just refurbish my existing cabinets or save up for a complete remodel next summer. If we remodel we can get an updated look and also address some issues with the current layout. Obviously, a big cost difference but I'm not sure about spending money now to modify what I have if I'm still going to want a full remodel within a few years. If I do paint my existing cabinets, though, I'm definitely leaning towards the Edgecomb Gray! Donna - I don't think I'll stain the cabinets because my kitchen is already so dark and I truly lust over lighter kitchens but thanks so much for the link!...See MoreEquivalent to BM Edgecomb Gray? Need SW or Valspar
Comments (12)I chose Edgecomb Gray for all of my main living areas. I first had SW computer match for the color, it wasn't spot-on, so i took the actual chip in and they color matched it by hand. It was very, very close. Maybe leans a tiny bit toward the beige side of greige than the BM sample, but that could've just been the difference in sheens. If you decide to go this route, I can post a pic of the formula from the can and you can have SW mix it up to see what you think. Other SW colors I found similar to Edgecomb Gray were SW Modern Gray and SW Wordly Gray....See MoreWhat colors to compliment Benjamin Moore's Edgecomb Gray?
Comments (14)Another thought I had was was bring the Edgecomb gray into the family room (replace the acorn yellow color with it) and paint the accent wall Bordeaux Red (a "blackened burgundy" by Benjamin Moore). I have Bordeaux red in the dining room so it may be nice to pull all the colors together. However, one friend seems to think too much Edgecomb Gray everywhere will be "boring". I do not know what to do!...See MoreSoft White to go w Edgecomb Gray
Comments (7)@elcieg I think PUre White is too white for my liking for walls. I love color and depth but have low light rooms. I've used a similar warm white w pure white trim in another house and liked it for just a bit of warmth but it was colors I knew. I've never used Edgecomb. But now I'm in a panic and just looked at the BM website and some sample photo of a fireplace looks butter yellow when I clicked EG!!!! I've never seen it resemble anything like that BM sample photo online or on my paint sample. Guess I'll see when I open the door - painters putting on edgecomb now. @celerygirl Thanks! Dove Wing looks like something I'm looking for. That gray!!! That gives me an idea. I have Taj Mahal in the kitchen and not wanting the all golden beige look. I saw a beautiful kitchen that blended a blue/gray tile w their TM and it looked so good - different than what I see always done w Taj....See Morelaura_04
