Miele Washer/Dryer Cheat Sheet?
Comments (3)eleena, it's early in my ownership arc and time does change one's perspective. I'm also still getting to know the machine. However, I do have 10 years with the Asko and 2 with the Bosch as benchmarks. Miele capacity is better than Asko and close or equal to Bosch. It's the quietest washer and the one that gives the user the most control. Despite unuseful names, each cycle provides a variation to make it suitable for a particular load of laundry. Way more cycles and refinements than the other brands -- no comparison on that. I was hoping for a cheat-sheet having been done by someone on all the cycles to be posted -- perhaps it will emerge. I was looking to speed up my learning curve but I can DIM. I'm super happy with the pair. Both w&d have features the other brands don't. So far, I'm happier with this pair in every aspect. Hopefully time won't change that. The dryer is as nuanced as the washer. I have a lot of techno clothing with elasticizers and cotton-wool blends. Until now I had to line dry these but this dryer handles them perfectly without overheating. It does an equally good job on my sheets, which are all 100% cotton and were getting cooked in the other dryers. My delivery and install went perfectly and I'm feeling this was money very well spent. Big gain in terms of quality and ease of use for me....See MoreMiele Dryer not really drying
Comments (4)I would check your dryer vent for clogs and build-up as a first step. If you're getting heat that you can feel but it's not making satisfactory progress drying then the common culprit is a clogged vent. You know you have to clean it out periodically, right? Examine the far end of the exit pipe, first, if it's easy to get to. Then work outwards from the machine (you have to disconnect the pipe) and run brushes through to dislodge the build-up and then use a shop vac to suck it all out. If your vent is very hard to reach, enough so you'd need to call a vent cleaning company and you want to confirm that the problem is the vent and not something else before paying for a service call, here's what to do: disconnect your dryer from the vent completely and either run a load without any connection or if you're in a tight spot like a closet connect it up to a cheapo run of vent pipe and either just let it discharge into the room, or out a window (that's best, all things considered). Having your dryer blow into your house isn't good, particularly if it's a gas dryer which wouldn't be true in your case, but, for a single test load with windows wide open you'd be fine. If the load dries normally when it's disconnected from your existing vent system, then the problem is conclusively identified. If you haven't already done so, consider upgrading your vent piping to smooth-walled pipe rather than the corrugated stuff (or worse, the cheap plastic stuff). Comments (3)I am beyond surprised and happy that the Miele Little Giant condenser dryer dries much faster than the residential Miele condenser dryer. A large load of cottons (say roughly 12-14 shirts, 2-3 pairs of jeans or shorts, 10-12 pairs of underwear and 10-12 pairs of socks will dry in less than an hour, and this included my extended Cooling Down phase that I programmed. So, dry in 45ish mins! Large load of bath towels about an hour. CA King Sheets dried on delicate (very low heat) about 1:20 Remember the Little Giant was made and designed for Professional use, before they decided to allow residential customers to own one. Fast, efficient and brilliant. I could not be happier!!!...See MoreAnyone have the Miele W1 and T1 washer/dryer?
Comments (3)there is a long thread on her ethat you can look at i do have one and like it. To answer your questions the washer drum isze is ok for us - you can put alot in there. The dryer cannot be overloaded or the clothes will wrinkle. Also, the clothes will feel slightly "damp" when first pulled out. In a minute or two in the air the mysteriously dry. You should tak ethem out when they are done to minimize wrinkles the heat pump really doesnt add an heat to the room drying times are reasonable. i dont think they are actually any longer than others dryers - maybe a few minutes i am 6'6" and dont mind the reach into the drum...See MoreRelated Professionals
