mirrored closet doors
Comments (27)oh my gosh - I figured I'd get one or two responses on this! :) ok - some more truth to divulge... we also have oak trim and doors. So I am also trying to break up a 'sea of oak' in my BR as well. So I do have multiple agendas here. We do have the intent of resale in the next few years and oak is still popular here, so painting/changing the oak isn't really in the cards. I would have 2 sets of bifold doors in a row. So it's not simply the lack of space in the room that has me contemplating alternate door options. Kiko - I don't think anyone takes offense to your input. ;) But I do think that mirrors on the ceiling would raise more eyebrows than closet doors. LoL. The mirrored door pics that were posted look quite nice and I appreciate those responses very much! Thank you Val and Hippie :) OT again - justgotabme - I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I lost my bf to cancer 6 years ago at (her) ripe old age of 26. Cancer SUCKS - what more can anyone say than that.?....See Moreare mirrored closet doors woefully passe?
Comments (31)Thanks again, folks. writersblock...always enjoy your posts. leah-yeah, i did take into consideration what exactly will be reflected. Our room is pretty, and it will oppose french doors across the room...so i think that will look cool! thank you, teacates! and mclarke and mlb! bronwyns-well, I am a vodka martini girl...but I think taht will do the trick. The BIG trick, tho...is to have HUBBY indulge in a few cocktails. That way...i look like a SUPERMODEL in his eyes! :) marti8-You make the best point of all. I know these design ideas come full circle. Also, I am at an age where i like what I like, and everyone else be damned! Well, I guess that is not 100% true or I would not be on a decorating message board...but you know what I mean! newdawn-kookooachoo, mrs Robinson! BTW, you don't realize how perfect that is, because I have started a few threads regarding my desire to decorate my 70's ranch with a 70's flair! I just think of mirrored doors as more "80's." That's where I have a problem. (not that there was anything wrong with the 80's! LOL) justgotobeme-YES! Actually, I must admit I was talking about the 1st link. Just the plain old doors. BTW, that is almost exactly what my room looks like...that same color green, that same color trim, and almost the same color wood (mine is a little darker.)But I do love the second link. I will have to look into those further. That might be just what I need. do you know where they are available? You are always so very helpful! walkin-even I admit, those mirrors are a bit much! But great link, thank you, it was a funny (yet informative)read. nicole-thanks for the input. I am pretty sure I will find the doors functional AND pretty. bbstxx-that is GORGEOUS! When you say antiqued...do you mean like smoked mirrors? Wonder where I can find the doors in your picture...do you know? Thank you for sharing that....See Morewhat to do with mirror closet doors
Comments (0)I’ve had three mirrors on my closet doors in my bathroom but two were broken during a remodel. See photo. The left and right are hinged doors. The middle is a wall. Should I replace the mirrors on all three or replace only the center and replace the others with new white doors? This is my bathroom and the vanity is directly across from the closet. I think the mirrors make it look bigger and are functional, but I am told they’re outdated....See MoreLayout help for my Dad's bathroom remodel
Comments (11)Could a designer please weigh in? Would this work? This won't require moving walls. The closet will only be 6 feet across, but we could do custom built in storage on the other side instead of hanging space on both sides, so maybe 6' is okay? All I need is to give my Dad some options to consider and refine his thoughts on what he wants before he meets with professionals. I have a relationship with an excellent tile pro who is revered on this forum who built all 4 of my showers and baths, so he's going to be in good hands there. I also have a relationship with a local custom cabinet builder who made all my master bathroom cabinets and custom built my closet, and has done other smaller jobs for me, even building and repairing furniture; crazy extremely skilled person. So I know that whatever the solution is regarding the layout, my Dad will have an excellent tile pro and cabinet builder on his team....See Morehumbleandkind
