Third time trying lavender, what am I doing wrong?
Comments (7)The first one (the one that died in the week) was bought at Walmart and the second was bought at a University's agriculture program's plant sale. The one I have now was bought at a local greenhouse. I'm not sure what is in the potting mix, but it seems to be quick draining, at least compared to what I remember of the others. The container is also smaller for the plant's size, which I've heard helps. Lately we've been having very sunny and hot days, not a lot of rain. It's soil is pretty much dry now but the plant seems fine. If the leaves start to go limp I'll water it, but should I let the soil dry out like this every time? How can I tell when it needs a bigger pot?...See MoreNeed low vibration FL washer third floor old house
Comments (17)Update: the Home Depot delivery guys said it was an "extremely dangerous" delivery to take it up to our third floor (note I already have full size GE stackable up there. They said it was probably brought up via magic-really!). They made a big stink and said they may drop it and put a big hole in my wall and they went on and on about possible injury to themselves. However, they put it on us to decide whether we wanted it delivered and said we would have to waive any damage. I sent it back. (More drama with other washer they were delivering to the basement I will spare you.). Home Depot was great but I had to call them and have them call delivery company to get workers to leave other washer. It was very complicated and stressful. Two hours of back and forth about it! So I'm back to square one with the third floor washer. I'm thinking I will shop at local appliance store so they can advise on the delivery and won't subcontract. (They are the ones who suggested Electrolux for third floor but I went with Home Depot because of better price). What are your thoughts on a "compact" washer/dryer. Bosh has 24in. Electrolux has one too. It will be easier to get it up the stairs but I know nothing about "condensing" dryers. Note we have new large capacity washer in the basement so I don't need to do super large loads upstairs. Thoughts? Thanks!...See MoreHELP! Need third party opinion on measuring for granite install
Comments (7)Well, all I can say is that in those 2 pictures, the two measuring tapes aren't making a right angle. I can't tell if you mean that's what they are measuring or what you are measuring. I'd wonder if perhaps they aren't doing this in "most efficient" mode because you've got a pretty darned visible seam there, and they're trying to get it at least in the same area of granite from 2 slabs--that L of granite you show sure seems to have a lot of different colors, seems like being even remotely matching would be difficult on the seam....See MoreI need help finding a Torchiere lamp I am obsessed with.
