Trade list /wish list/giveaway list, for Raleigh, NC. Spring swap 2018
Comments (653)Ralph, is that guy hardy? I forgot.. As for getting to the exchange, I was surprised at how difficult it is to find it from main page. I just use these existing threads that have emails about, and go to the top and click the "Carolina Garden Exchange" button, and it brings me to it. Though I did finally find it from main page... (if not for this question I wouldn't have spent time to look, because got irritated before at being unable to find it, but found it easier this time for some reason) Go to the Stories and Advice and choose Gardenweb Discussions: Then go to the side bar and click Exchanges and Trading: That will bring you to a list of all the exchanges and can choose Carolina Exchange from there....See More2018 Raleigh Spring Swap
Comments (12)I share seeds of edibles, Veggies, Basils, salad greens and thornless blackberry cuttings as the edibles are my main interest. I am hoping more swappers get into growing edibles. It is very soul and belly (hehehe) satisfying. Scott, Hope your son grows the Thai basil. I am happy to know that he was able to grow the Holy basil successfully. The Thai basil is easy , germinates well and will be about 4 feet tall with beautiful purple / maroon spikes. The leaves are spicy sweet and go well with pastas. The seeds i save and share every year to anyone who likes to grow it. Lorabell, I am so eager to know the plants and the fruits look like in your garden. I know you sweet talk to them into doing their utmost best. :-)) . Do keep me posted please!! IF you are coming to Raleigh, and have some spare time, You are always welcome. Message me. Lauren, thanks for the kombucha recipe. I am going to try the ginger first. I am already addicted to the Costco ginger kombucha. Loved the one you got at the swap. Delicious. We got to share more flavors. If I get more ginger, I will bring it over. Iamcgowa, I hope you can stay longer next time. Missed talking to you. Thank you for the plants. Karen-w and Screen writer, I am glad I did not forget. Thanks for the trades. Brenda , Judy,Thank to you both for the wonderful trades and the extra stuff you gave me. Remind me if you like something from my list. Brenda, If you would like some Thai basil plants, we can certainly meet ( location? ) in June/ july, when they are big enough. Jaime, I would love to see your Luffa vine pictures. Claudia, Joyce, and Tome Mather, Welcome to the swap. I hope you all enjoyed as much as we have. Thank you all for the trades. Hope to do more in the fall. Do let me know what is on your wish list so we can get started. Casa Lester, Want to see your Lotus updates, Thanks for the Nerium hardy oleander . I will update its status. I will see if I can bring more from your wish list. We have such a wonderful sharing group here. I will try more fragrant / showy flowers from now on, so, I may be able to share more of the stuff that most swappers want. The food was delicious, as always. Wishing everyone, happy sharing, for years to come....See More2021 Raleigh Spring Swap ????
Comments (64)Thanks for the kind words "Sabji garden" I am Srini - an electrical engineer by profession, from south India. Me and my family moved to Cary in 2016. This year I have spending more time gardening. Started off with a kitchen garden - herbs, the usual tomato/ cucumber/ bell pepper etc; inherited some Hostas and Cannas. I also have Gardenias, Hibiscus, Hydrangea, Azalea, Jasmine, Coleus, Begonia plants. Inspired by Niren (who introduced me to this group and is my trusted adviser in all things green) I am trying to grow more native and/or pollinator friendly plants - got started off with Crocosmia, Hannas, Rudbeckia, Salvias, Honeysuckle, Passion flower + some Strawberry too :-) I am also trying to grow fragrant flowers - hopefully those that last into Fall when the Indian festival season starts. :-) -Srini...See MoreRaleigh Spring swap 2022 special side trades
Comments (163)Karen, the mums are from my garden; it is an early bloomer called 'Red Carousel.' The Mum Society just had a sale of special mums at Campbell Nursery. We (Mum Society) are having the National Convention in Raleigh this year too. Mums are bizarre this year; those in gallon pots were growing until that 20 degree morning, and most of them just died. JJ I will bring you a camellia in the fall. Thanks everyone for all the special treasures I will add to my garden. Thanks, John, for all of your efforts....See MoreMary C
