I think I'm going to have to post the guidelines for these threads every day.

The purpose is to share photos *you've* taken. It is not about pulling pictures or memes off the internet or posting photos others have taken. If you do post a picture you haven't taken, it should be personal for some reason, and you should credit the photographer, such as DS took this picture of our vacation in the islands.

It's not that hard...please post in keeping within these parameters.

Annie, while we're discussing photo posting guidelines, I was wondering if there is a suggested limit to how many photos we should post.

I try to stick with one or two most days, but with this alphabet thing we're doing, for the past few days, I've been posting a theme and have ended up with 5 - 7 pics at a time. In this case, it's been a matter of wanting to post the pics that make up the theme I've chosen, but other times it's just because I can't decide which photo I want to share, so I share more than one.

I think the limit per post is 10, although I've never posted that many at one time to the daily photo thread.

I can't begin to tell you how much fun I'm having with the alphabet!

Uptown Gal, yes, there were several beautiful cakes I could see through the window. I didn’t dare go in, as I would have gained 10 lbs just walking in the door! You can just see a corner of a watermelon cake in the first photo and the cupcakes were lovely.

Dawn, good question. Sometimes I could get carried away. And also Houzz cuts off some comments if the post gets too long. I don’t know how long the post has to be for that to happen and these dailies probably don’t get that big, but I would hate for someone’s older photos to roll off. Of course you can click ‘see previous comments’ but some don’t always think to do that.

Tangerines. I am the only one who eats them, so I give them away for free by putting boxes at the end of the driveway. This was taken a few years ago when we had a bumper crop. I do this with oranges and lemons too. I can only eat or use so much.

I apologize to Nicole, Annie and everyone on this thread. I thought that was one of the photos I had taken while we were on a trip in the fall. We had stopped at a park that had a topiary garden and I took several photos of various animals.

Nicole - I honestly am sorry that happened. Please believe me when I say that it was unintentional. I was not ignoring your post or your messages. I have been away all day or I would have been able to correct it earlier. I just got back and found the emails you sent and then immediately came here. I deleted the picture. It took me a while to figure out what happened. We were visiting friends and I gave a copy of the Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar and a stuffed animal to their young daughter. Sometime after that you posted your photo and I took a picture to show to this little girl the next time I saw her. I should have deleted it from my photo folder.

Again I am truly sorry. Please accept my apologies.

maire-cate, while I can't speak for anyone else on the thread, it sounds like an honest mistake was made and you've done what you can to rectify it. Please don't beat yourself up over it; let's all put it behind us and carry on.

The daily thread is one that is fun and lighthearted and many enjoy it. I hope you will continue to participate in the future.

Troughs

One of my weird collections are old concrete water troughs. I only have 4, but have another one I found, hope to buy. The big one, on the bottom, came from the first place we bought in 1966. We moved it to Liverpool 30 years later, and to here, 23 years later. It is the same age as me, 1946. Not easy to move, but one of my all time favorite things. It was my first watergarden. Can't leave it behind, and this summer, once again will have miniature waterlilies in it.

Mine is titillating.
