I think I made an oopsie, wrong rose?
Comments (6)I grow Souvenier du Dr. Jamain, and it is one of my top 3 favorites. I think that the 15' thing is for southern gardeners, here in zone 5, my own root gets to be a good 5 feet high and probably 4 feet wide, maybe a bit larger, but at any rate, nowhere near 15'..but in my opinion, you should make a place for it, it is a super nice rose. It is thornless, so even if it flops out onto a walkway, it won't matter, smell is great, and I find it doesn't fade up here as much as the southern rose growers say. Pretty Jessica is one of the Austins that I have been thinking about getting..let us know how it does in your zone...Donna...See MoreI think I bought the wrong soil! HELP!!!
Comments (8)Thanks for the quick response, Nancy! Actually, the bags I bought were on sale for 1.95 each, whereas the MG Potting Mix was 7.95 for a 2 cu. ft. bag *sigh* Like a dork, I thought I was buying something "better", AND saving a few bucks in the process...it figures, I made a newbie error. Probably the first of many *giggle* I'll probably hang onto them, maybe store them in the garage. One of the bags broke when I took it out of the trunk, so now all three are muddy and messy; I'm sure I'll find a use for the soil somewhere. Thanks again for your help, it is much appreciated! Comments (1)Well, not sure what "color" you're referring to as you have bricks, stone, siding, and trim. I'll assume you mean the beige(ish) trim? Which I really like because it provides contrast.... But you also mention "darker gray", so you might be referring to the siding on the peaks? I like it light and consider that if you put a dark gray there, then the beige would be incongruous as the ONLY light color in a sea of dark....See MoreDid I choose the wrong brick color?
Comments (20)I think it will blend in better with landscaping. If it is bothering you in a year you can do something to soften the color or make it less contrasting. I tell myself that if I do not love a detail that I chose, I would have still bought the house with that detail had I looked at it used. I think it is the luxury of choice that we hope to love, that makes us torture ourselves that we would have been happier with a different choice......we could have just as easily made back when we were making the choice and rationally thought we were choosing the best choice.............. Ask me how I know....................See MoreV Smith
