Do low "e" windows block enough (84%) sun that you don't need shades?

Will a window with low - e argon block enough UV light so we don't have to use sun-shades? We don't want to use sun-shades in winter because the south sun will give us free heat! BUT we don't want to fade the floor, furniture, art, etc. Note: our sun-shades are Insolroll 3% gray/black.

Pella says our windows block 84% of UV. (U-factor .29, SGHC .27). So I guess this means that 16% of UV from the sun still comes in? Is that significant? Will stuff fade?

We have Pella Architect type glass doors and windows, with some facing south, some west. See pics.
