They're baaack! trump style

Annie Deighnaugh

Now that the lid is off and there are no checks and balances on the president, and now that the adults are leaving the administration...or more likely fleeing for the hills....the trump loyalists are returning. We've seen hope hicks has returned, and now here's another:

John McEntee, President Trump’s former body man who was fired by former chief of staff John Kelly over security clearance issues and recently returned to the West Wing, is expected to lead the Presidential Personnel Office, according to two sources with direct knowledge....

Trump sees McEntee as the ultimate loyalist, and he has assigned him the powerful role of picking personnel across the federal government....

The bottom line: With McEntee at the helm of PPO, Trump’s hardcore allies will have a freer hand than ever with personnel across the federal government.

The bodyguard is the head of HR???

Is it because he needs calming down from familiar people? Sure seems suspicious.

No Toby...it's because he needs an inside enforcer who's going to make everyone in his administration toe the line and be afraid, very afraid, to blow any whistles on what's going on.

Between now and Nov is going to be the most dangerous time in our government...unless he wins in Nov, in which case it will only get worse until he's out of office...whenever that occurs.

They probably can’t get jobs anywhere else & can’t pick up a reality show appearance in the real world so back they go to the comfort of that alternate reality, the WhiteHouse.

Well hardcore enforcer Stephen Miller just got married yesterday to Pence's press secretary so maybe he's been preoccupied.

Sure a bodyguard as your head HR person, sounds about right to me.

From Raw Story:

“In a ceremony at one of President Donald Trump’s hotels on Sunday, Miller married Katie Waldman, an aide to Vice President Mike Pence.

The news was soon trending on Twitter, where users collectively retched at the idea of marrying Miller.”

The Democrats can’t compete, So they generate hysteria.

When one breathes just to see people in jail it is just such a sad use of one’s life and is just existing, not living

Clearly Trumpers forget they still chant “LOCK HER UP” at every....single....rally. Talk about breathing just to see people in jail and a sad use of one’s life .......for four+ years now. (Not to mention waiting for hours, days just to attend a stupid rally to hear Trump repeat the same nonsense he’s repeated for five years).

Self awareness by GOP & their ilk has been in very short supply for a long time now.

Projection is way more common, as demonstrated here daily.

And it seems to me the biggest reason for the returns is that hardly anybody with real experience and intelligence wants those jobs now. It's been a career killer for so many.

Not to mention the part where you might wind up in prison...

Where did the other two branches of government go???

Well, abh, the gop/moscow mitch led senate put an end to any check on presidential powers by acquitting the president in the impeachment and by refusing to pass any legislation and only spend their time approving trump nominees for judgeships whether qualified or not....he's now appointed 25% of the federal judges, so he's rapidly getting the judiciary in his favor.

And the SC can only hear cases that are brought before them, and even at that, it's stacked in trump's favor with the gop majority and esp with kavanaugh on the bench who takes as kingly a view of the presidency as trump does.

And he's got barr willing to use the DoJ for political purposes...so let's say for fun that the SC rules against trump and orders him to turn over his tax returns and trump says, "No", who's going to make him?

So you tell me, who's going to check trump's presidential powers? In the old days, we had presidents who respected the rule of law and honored subpoenas and court orders...but this guy? Not so much.

Annie, Lower courts have been very active in checking the president, at least temporarily. Disputed cases can be overturned by a higher court. The cases that get to the SCOTUS usually have to work their way through the system. The SCOTUS decides what cases it will hear. You may not approve of how it works, but that's our system.

As for the House and Senate (congress) they are elected leaders answerable to their constituents. The Senate did not agree with the House did,

We don't always get what we want.

You still didn't answer the question abh...given where we are today, who is going to be a check on trump?
