"Hope Hicks, one of President Donald Trump’s most trusted confidants on the campaign trail, is returning to the White House after nearly two years away.

Hicks will work in her new role under the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner as a counselor to the president and senior adviser, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham confirmed. Hicks departed the White House in March 2018 after working as communications director for Trump. She then moved to Los Angeles to work in a senior communications role at Fox Corporation."

It had been reported that Hope Hicks was tasked with steaming Trump's pants while he was in them to get out wrinkles from sitting.

Someone at Newsweek needs a vacation. Or medication. Or an intervention. Possibly all 3.

Her former lover was a steamer too. They probably steamed in unison.

Umm - I have a steamer. There is NO WAY anyone could wear trousers while someone is using a steamer. They produce a hotter than hot temperature.

This has to be fake and stupid news.

It’s not like you’re ironing against yourself, pap. Blasting steam from a couple inches away. I used to do it all the time back when I wore suits.

President Donald Trump reportedly made Hope Hicks, now his
communications director, steam his pants while he was still wearing them
and scolded her when she forgot the wrinkle-erasing device.

Hicks,
who worked as his press secretary at the time, was in charge of making
sure Trump's pants and jacket were sharp when they flew on his private
plane, according to excerpts in a Washington Post review of the new tell-all book by former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, Let Trump Be Trump.

According
to Lewandowski, Trump would shout out for Hicks to grab the steamer,
which he apparently called "the machine," and she would then get to work
while his clothes were still on him.

"Get the machine!" Trump
would shout, according to the book. "And Hope would take out the steamer
and start steaming Mr. Trump's suit, while he was wearing it! She'd
steam the jacket first and then sit in a chair in front of him and steam
his pants."

“sit in a chair in front of him and steam his pants."

Now why do I get the impression he didn’t give a fig about how his suit looked.

The actual reason Hope Hicks is being brought back to the White House is due to Trump’s declining mental state.

As a pundit pointed out—- Barr’s just trying to protect himself. If he wants Trump to stop tweeting why not just tell Trump in private?

Barr is just trying yo save his own skin by announcing it publicly. He’s in Trump’s pocket and he thinks he can extricate himself.

Trumpy IMpostus is in a panicked lather. He’s got Bees (B’s) in his bonnet — Biden, Buttigieg, Bloomberg, Billie Barr.

Hopie can press something warm and comforting against his wrinkles, bring her makeup blending brush, speak soft reassurances and “...take him back to the start” before the Big Peach.

If Hopie would just hold that steamer at a better angle, she might get him to confess, spill the Bees. Wonder if some $ would help.

meanwhile,

Petalique, I think you hit in something there with the blending brush. I don't remember this stage make-up being quite so bad at the beginning of his term. Maybe Hick's tasks also included some blending.

She ain't going to spill no beans. She's got a new job with Jared Kushner.

Yes, the news report states she will be working under him.

I wonder if that will get her out of makeup blending and trouser steaming. Probably not. She has surely been hired back (with a bunch of others) because she is comforting to IMpostus.

What Hope hate? On this thread?

Closest maybe my post about her job? Most people don’t take a job for 10x their prior salary and then come back in two years. So yeah I’m wondering what happened there.

My comment (for example) and those of others have nothing to do with her pretty looks. Although, now that you raise the issue, I don’t imagine that trump would have her as his comfort blanket if she looked plain — even if she was the best makeup stick artist, pants presser, and soother.

IMpotus needs to hug his chipped-foam pillow, inhale cheeseburgers and suck his thumb as he works on using the justice department to “investigate” and hound those many decent patriots on his Enemies List.

He is worried about the clued in American voter turning him out of office.

So Hope Hicks was called back in to comfort him.

FOAS, you bring up a very valid point.

From 10/08/2018

"In her new job (at Fox), Hicks is likely to make at least seven figures, if one
counts salary, bonus and stock, according to a source familiar with
corporate pay packages and a former Fox executive. The incoming Fox
executive made $179,700 per year in her White House position, meaning
she is likely to more than quintuple her salary with her new role."

Priebus and Spicer are also returning.

It's like watching a battered woman go back to the man who beat her.

Ouch! She was hired to torture him ?

A man wearing pants would be burned if pants are steamed while he is in them.

I guess yesterday’s comments are too far upthread to read. But I’ll elaborate on yesterday’s response.

If you’re talking about a steam iron, then no, you wouldn’t iron up against someone. Ouch. But if you have machine that just shoots out some steam, often through a wand, then absolutely you can use it while wearing the garment. Here’s what I used, but there are more portable versions, too.

I have the same steamer, FOAS. Made by Jiffy. Perhaps mine is hotter than yours but a blast of steam from my wand will definitely burn your skin if you dare steaming trousers while wearing them. I’ve burned my hand if, when I’m holding the material taut, I get the wand too close.
