Vogue Anniversary Rose and Bliss Parfuma Rose, Any info?
Comments (4)Pair of Kiss Me Kates arrived from Roses Unlimited only last week. Very good looking babies, already putting out new growth, unfazed by their 2-day trip in a dark box during high 90's heat. One has 2 laterals 3' long, the other has 4, each 2' long. http://www.kordes-rosen.com/new-roses-2016-2017/gardenrose-kiss-me-kate?from=category Online efforts researching Bliss, reported on Judy's thread about new roses from J & P, copied below. These look very promising for this no spray garden, too. Sue http://forums2.gardenweb.com/discussions/4704549/jandp-email-with-new-roses-do-you-have-bliss-or-oh-happy-day?n=10 Bliss/Marchenzauber/KORmarzau introduced by Kordes in Germany in 2015. Kordes calls it a Floribunda, a Fairy Tale rose, yet it won Best Hybrid Tea in both La Tacita, Italy & Baden-Baden, Germany in 2016. Looks lovely in both coloring & flower power. Beauty, fragrance & health is a winning combination in my book, too. With 4 stars for blackspot resistance, the bugaboo here, will be looking for this one. Great name, Chris! Sue http://www.kordes-rosen.com/gardenrose-maerchenzauber?___SID=U HMF says mild fragrance, but Kordes bills the fragrance as intense. http://www.helpmefind.com/gardening/l.php?l=2.73809.1&tab=1 World Federation of Rose Society Trials 2016, winner Golden Rose award & Gold Medal for Hybrid Teas. "The 2016 rose trial in Baden-Baden, Germany was a kind of Kordes-festival as ten out of twenty-one awards went to this German breeding company. It started with the Golden Rose of Baden-Baden for Rosa 'KORmarzau' Marchenzauber, a hybrid tea with cream and pink, cupped, full blooms which are apricot at the centre. This Kordes-variety also got the Gold Medal for Hybrid Teas." http://newplantsandflowers.com/rose-trials-result-in-a-large-variety-of-winning-varieties/...See MoreYour favorite/best Kordes roses

There is no way to do much training or bending of any kind. They aren’t flexible even when the canes are young and fresh. They snap off with very little pressure, so a gentle fanning of the canes is all I can accomplish on mine. She is very vigorous, breaking new basal canes all during the growing season. Her spring flush is delectable, big fat cup cupcake booms with a fragrance that I love. Unfortunately, I don’t get very much rebloom, but this will be my 4th summer with her and I keep hoping for improvement in that area. I pruned her back pretty hard this spring and am hoping that kickstarts her blooming into overdrive. Plum Perfect is only starting her second year in my garden and the first summer in the ground as I kept her in a pot the first season. She has been maintenance free and beautiful and I have no complaints except for her lack of fragrance, but I don’t think PP ever has much fragrance and in my arid climate, not much can be expected....See MoreKordes Roses as cut flowers?
Comments (11)I have Dark Desire. It reblooms a lot now that I do not try and keep him shorter than he wants to be.... He will get to be about 15 foot tall here in Florida. HE is not a climber but he sure thinks he is one..... In fact, by accident I found that if his long limbs lays over it will put out laterals..... He does last a long time in the vase. I also have Beverly and she lasts a long time in the vase. I think she is more fragrant than Dark Desire at least in South Florida. She seems to bloom quite a bit. Another one I grow is Earth Angel, but it dose not last very long unless I cut it really really early.... kind of before they open all the way, because if they open on the bush they drop the petals really fast .... again I think that is because of my heat and humidity. I also have Lavender Veranda.... it makes a cute little bouquet.... I can't detect any scent.... I know that SoFl grows Wedding Bells and she says it lasts quite a while in the vase as well.... she also says it is one of her best in her garden and she does no spray... Good luck finding the one you want....See MoreWhere to buy Kordes Parfuma Collection roses?
Comments (4)Every now and then, the garden section at the big box home improvement may carry them, usually in the upper teens for pricing. But word gets out and the roses sell out fast....See MoreKristine LeGault 8a pnw
