Comments (4)Those first two pics may be a ginger, but I am not conversant with gingers. I know one genus is Hedychium, but I haven't grown them and am an idiot about their ID. I hope this helps you a little. Oh, that also bears some resemblance to Ctenanthe, Calathea and some other genera of the Maranta family...but I vote ginger. My own Alocasia sanderiana is spending the summer on a south facing, but sheltered, porch, getting no direct sun but a bright exposure. I'm using a very airy soil and I water it when it's dry down about half an inch. Soak and drain. While it's out there, it gets a drink of seaweed fertilizer weekly. If I don't repot in spring, I work a bit of worm castings into the old medium. My sister had this one for many years before giving it to me. It has a nice big bulb, and doesn't grow much inside during winter so I slow down on the water. Comments (4)The first one is a weed, but don't know the name. The second may be pokeweed. A weed to most, but wildlife likes it, and it will spread. Not sure about the third one. Not sure if you know it or not, but you have damage from the four lined plant bug.
