I know it's still early in the returns, but unless something has dramatically changed in the last few moments, Sanders is still leading -- and significantly ahead of Klobuchar.

Good for Amy. She did well at the last debate so it's good to see her honest approach is going over well. I disagree with most of her policies, but at least she hasn't tried to snow the voters.

Huge congratulations to Bernie!!! He is 2/2 of the popular vote and just beginning. And that's all with 100% grass roots support - zero billionaires vs. the second place candidates 40 and Amy's handful of billionaire & corporate backers.

Bernie and Pete each got 9 delegates. Amy made a strong third finish. The next two primaries will be very interesting to watch. Maybe all of this is strengthening Bloomberg's hand.

Reporting I heard, based on exit polls, was that the Biden vote went to Mayor Pete and Amy, Mayor Pete getting the most. I find it hard to believe they went to Bernie . Common sense says the moderate vote would go to other moderates this early in the process. FOX seems to have a " thing" for Bernie.

From Politico......

"CNN exit polling shows that Buttigieg was the best closer among the Democratic candidates, besting his rivals among the 15 percent of voters who only decided who to support on Tuesday.

Among those voters, 31 percent went to the former mayor, with Klobuchar in second, winning over 16 percent of last-minute deciders.

Both Klobuchar and Buttigieg appear to have received big boosts from their debate performance last week — 49 percent of Democratic voters called the debate a “very important” factor in their decision, and Klobuchar won 30 percent of those voters, while Buttigieg won 22 percent of those voters.

Among the one-third of voters who said they'd decided "in the last few days," Buttigieg again led with 29 percent, while Klobuchar got 24 percent among that group."

Yeah same here - I ve been looking for the candidate who can use the words "coalition" and coalition-building in a sentence, and she's about the only one Ive heard who does that.. Although I was glad to hear Bernie talk about unity this a.m. on npr. If Dems can arrive at consensus and have their team assembled by convention time- who will do what in the administration, not only the VP slot - that t, that will bring everyone together like nothing else.

That's a big if of course - after all the phrase "herding cats" was invented to desrible the Dems.

I still have no strong preference, though I'm glad to see Amy and Pete doing so well. Joe and Bernie are not my favorite choices, but I'm not really opposed to them.

So far, we have preliminary tests from the upper Midwest and the northeast. I think things will focus more clearly on a winner after we add in a western vote (Nevada) and a southern vote (S.Carolina)--for "balance."

But however it turns out, I'm with Annie: "VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHO"

Oh, I'd rather have Buttigieg as a Trump opponent than Bernie. But, despite his great start, he's not rising in the polls as one might expect he would.

I think Pete is lacking all the authenticity Bernie has. To me, he acts more like a practiced character in a movie than an authentic person. Also, when he smiles his great big smile, he really does look about 12 years old. Even with a serious face, he doesn't have an ounce of a look of maturity or toughness. He's lucky in that he'll have a youthful look long into his life, but presidential looking, he's just not. Then, in his speech, he's just sounding a bit too rehearsed IMO. For this reason, I think he has a tendency to choke or evade when asked questions.

I still have no clue about Bloomberg and won't have an opinion until I see him debating and such. Other than he's really rich, I don't know anything about the guy.

Klobuchar is doing a good job for the moment, but she needs a ton more support and a ton of money to advance. It's possible, but I don't know about likely.

I worry he can't win over enough moderates to beat Trump but I respect his passion and commitment so why bash him? That's just too trumpian for most Dems.

I like Amy too. Not a big Bernie fan, and I don't think Pete can win against trump. Whoever wins the nomination is going to have to be trained to handle the 2-bit thug in the WH in a debate. I just have flashbacks of him stalking Hillary on stage.

I believe Amy has achieved more as a senator than Bernie, and she is younger. Bernie does not seem to lack energy even tho' he did not take much time to recover from recent heart attack. He seems mentally clearer than Biden. Amy is more moderate, thereby more electable IMHO.

I see that Klobuchar's taking some fire for some of her MN AG decisions which is a bit ironic in that it was partly her success in that office that propelled her Senate run. She really supported the advancement of women, especially in the law, and was a role model.

I'm very interested in seeing Bloomberg hit the public view (in person, not just ads). I found this piece especially interesting. Right now, Bloomberg is more of an idea/hope than a candidate IMO. Klobuchar was right in that he should be in the debate mix (which opens up the good and bad of facing the public (and questions) in person). For now, when something controversial about Bloomberg comes up, he's trying to address the issue with a new ad. I just don't think he can get away with his "ad only" campaign for much longer.
