Advice on some Austin roses
Comments (6)I was intrigued by Mystic Beauty when it scored so well in last years RIR so I looked it up on HMF. They state it's a sport but of Kronprinzessin Viktoria not SDLM........I grew Anne Bolyn years ago. I only had her for a little over a year in a container before I gave her away, so please take my comments with that limited experience in mind. I remember liking her blooms (color/form) which I found had a pleasant fragrance but she did have problems with B.S. I spray, but didn't want to take on another disease problem at the time. I can't really remember much more then that about her....See MoreInteresting article about how Norway eliminated MRSA
Comments (7)I have said for years..way before MRSA was a common problem, the antibiotics are over used/prescribed and it starts with INFANTS! People run their kids to the Dr. at the 1st sign of a sniffle. They almost always leave with a few prescriptions..one of them being an antibiotic! Most sniffles will last 3-7 days with or without meds! Honestly, I can count on 1 hand the times I took my kids to the Drs. Both of them are healthy as can be now. If and when they have to have an antibiotic now, it starts working almost immediately! It's scary to think we start medicating our kids almost from birth, then they grown up with immune systems that can't fight off even a minor infection. I also never gave my kids anything for a "fever" until it got to 102* or higher. A fever is the body's way of naturally fighting infections....See Moreabout the David Austin bagged root roses out there now
Comments (28)Since this thread has popped back up I should say that DA did replace the damaged roses and the replacements are awesome. I haven't seen any of the DA body bag type roses at our Whole Foods lately or anywhere else. If I saw some I would probably get some even though I definitely don't need anymore DA roses this year lol. I went ahead and ordered Lady of Shallot from DA because I really wanted that one and hadn't found it elsewhere grafted....See MoreHere's an article for folks interested in old roses . . .
Comments (16)I love my jesse Hildreth and thank Jeri for telling us about it. It's been in my garden for 2 years. One of my "must have" roses. Of course I love teas and it is one of my favorites. Let's see if I can actually post a picture I took of it this morning. Pictures do not do it justice. I have found it very hard to take pictures of roses that do them justice. But then I'm not a very good photographer. I'd love to be able to photograph roses in a way that brings out their beauty and specialness. Especially for the ORG's that are often so subtly beautiful....See Morejerijen
