Chestnut for sure. It has some life to it and doesn’t look so flat. It’s a great versatile color that looks good with many other colors too.

I think they are both classics. Do you prefer warmer or cooler color schemes? Sure grey has been hot for a while and cooling off, but you don't have to follow the look that goes with it, you can create your own look. Your current look is very neutral, I think either would look good.

The chestnut is a much prettier shade. You will probably need to add some more chestnut around the room to balance with the gray. And add some gray and chestnut throw pillows as well. You have a good eye, it will look nice.

Thank you all for the kind comments! I’m having major anxiety over this. I just don’t want to hate it when I get it in the room. Part of me says chestnut to change things up but I do love a monochromatic look but I have had the mono look for a bit. I don’t love a lot of color but still think the chestnut would be a neutral.

I like what you have there now, the light sofa makes more contrast. If I were doing grey it would be a light shade . When you have monochromatic you need either texture and/or contrast to keep things interesting. If you went with the saddle color you definitely would need to add some warmer elements as was said above to make it make sense.

Katrina_ellen I wish I could keep the current sofa but we bought that when we were in our previous home and have recently built on a farm in country and added a Great Dane to the family. The linen sofa doesn't stand a chance with the daily mess. LOL. Our pup isn't allowed on the furniture but has some messy lips that he gets on the sofa when he comes close for some attention. UGH! He's worth it though!

lorishopaholic, I wouldn't want to stress out about the dog either, leather is great for that. I like deegw's pillows with that saddle color, kind of reminds me of a Ralph Lauren look.

Hands down, the chestnut color. I love the combination of chestnut and gray--it's a fantastic combination of warm and cool. All-gray rooms are just so dreary.

Hello! Yes, love the chestnut color and think you should move in that direction. It will really warm up your space. Since your walls, cabinets and even the area rug are very neutral, so the space can handle it.
