You bathroom has so many possibilities. If you never take a bath then ditch it, otherwise your going to get stuck cleaning that big piece of real estate. I didn't quite understand if this was a totally new construction or not cause there was talk about moving toilet v. not moving. Here is my suggestion If you leave the toilet where it sits make it into a room with a door even with frosted glass. Next put in a swinging door rather then a pocket into the bath saves money works better. Put the shower where the tub is, its nice and big and where you show the shower and walk in linen closet put your long counter for sinks It will make nice focal point when you walk into the room. Get rid of the 2ft wide by 3ft deep linen it is way too deep and will be uncomfortable to use. I know a couple of people with deep closets like that and they are very unpractical. Next and this is a win win, where you show your sinks that whole area could then become a 2nd walk in closet! Now you have a his and hers WIC. My suggestion over on the existing closet move the entrance towards the exterior wall. when you put in your sink counter where i suggested it would only need 2ft of depth from exterior wall, which then gives you the ability to move the opening to the closet over. This way you can run your closet rod to the wall. The way you have it now your walking into the end of it, This also gives you a few more feet of storage. One thing i did in my closet that I love is use your corners of the closets for shelves. I made shelving towers in each corner and each shelf holds about 5 - 6 pairs of shoes or purses. Some I use for sweaters. It keeps everything off the floor and then the clothes rods hang from the towers. It makes great use of the corners. The bottom of the shelves I made so a pair of boots could be stored upright. It as been a great decision. Well I hope I helped you and you could follow my train of thought.

This looks like a really nice kitchen. You have enough room to allow all your zones to be separated nicely. I'm jealous! I would consider a prep sink on the corner of the island nearest the fridge, as it's nearly 12 ft between fridge and cleanup sink. It would definitely help during prepping meals. You also say you like to bake. You could keep all your baking materials by the MW/walloven and prep sink there would serve you very well. A prep sink there would also be a great place for drink dumpage before refilling from the fridge - much handier to the LR than the cleanup sink is. It looks like your MW/wall oven stack is breaking up that counter into two small chunks. I would consider scooting it all the way to the end, or pushing it right next to the fridge. You do have a lot of counterspace elsewhere though, so you may wish to ignore this. It looks like you do not plan seating at the island, correct? Your aisles should be 42" for one cook or 48" for multiple cooks, and more if you plan seating. By my math, on the 16' wide section, you can have two 46.5 aisles between sink-island-Fridge. That is workable if there is no seating. This also assumes that your fridge is truly counter-depth (25" deep) as you show. Standard fridges are around 36" deep including doors - you can see how that will jut into the aisle. I am not sure what the aisle is between range and island but it looks comparable. Finally, make sure you have at least some counter space on both sides of the laundry room sink. My former kitchen sink was right up against the wall and it was the biggest PITA. Good luck!

Chiming in a little late...but a couple of things... I was going to first ask about your family, etc., but I found the earlier thread with more information. I've linked it below. It does have very useful info. Based on the location of your refrigerator and range, your ideal Prep Zone is the peninsula. Kitchen workflow is: Refrigerator/Pantry --> Prep Zone w/sink & trash & workspace --> Cooking Zone w/range & landing space & workspace --> Cleanup Zone w/sink & DW & dish storage AND Serving Zone (w/seating & eating) So, if you put a prep sink in the peninsula, that would make the peninsula an ideal Prep Zone. Additionally, it eliminates the zone-crossing (which really wasn't bad, btw) and separates the Prep & Cooking Zones from the Cleanup Zone. It also... * Gives you a secondary Prep Zone b/w the cleanup sink and range * Allows you to leave the cleanup sink where it is, if that's your preference. If, however, you prefer to prep in front of the window, your latest layout gives you that. The fact that you love the view out the window will make it a pleasant place to prep. Yes, there is a bit of zone-crossing...but it's so little that I would not worry about it. The other disadvantage is that it's pretty far from the refrigerator...there's not much you can do about that given your constraints with the closet. Another advantage of your current layout is that it will be less expensive (no second sink). Your peninsula, is still available for a secondary Prep Zone, albeit without easy access to water; for seating; for staging food for the DR; as a Baking Center; and for large projects (school/science fair, crafts, gift wrapping, etc.) So in the end, it depends on where you want to spend 70% of your time...in front of the window (with your back to the DR & visitors at the peninsula) or facing the DR and visitors sitting at the peninsula (with your back to the window). [70% of the time spent working in the kitchen is spent prepping, so that's why the Prep Zone should have the best "view" and location in the kitchen! Only 20% of the time is spent cleaning up, so it's pretty far down on the priorities!] Personally, I'd pick facing the window, but everyone has different preferences! A couple of other things: Refrigerator......You show a french door model...is that your plan? The location of the refrigerator in the aisle b/w the peninsula means the doors should be as narrow as possible and a french door is the best type for this situation...so I would stick to it. Also, your landing zone is across the aisle on the peninsula (one of the reasons why the peninsula has an edge as a Prep Zone location). You need to be careful about aisle width in front of the refrigerator...not too wide that it's difficult to use the peninsula for landing space, but not too narrow that people cannot pass b/w the peninsula and refrigerator. I would keep it b/w 42" and 45". Any wider and the...

Interesting question Celticmoon. Here are my issues (in order of importance): * Lack of storage * Island is too small. I'm not sure if a larger island will fit well, but this one is so small it looks silly. * Lack of lighting * Lack of counter space. This is probably related to the lighting issue as the counters are so dark I really only use the island. It's a good point that the guts of the kitchen work pretty well for us. Honestly, this remodel started as a "face lift", but I am so worried we are going to spend all this $$$ and later realize we should have done XYZ with the space when we had the chance I just want to consider all the possibilities.
