Ta da follow up

I looked all over for my recent thread on striped cakes and could not find it (but I did just waste a good 20 minutes rereading a nearly 5yo thread on ombre ice cream cakes!).

Anyway, DD finally made it home to celebrate this weekend, and I defrosted the lemon raspberry pinata cake. I would say it worked quite well, but the pinata contents ended up less spill-y, having been frozen and then defrosted. It still tumbled but was less dramatic. Just from my experience moving the cake before it was frozen, I'm pretty sure that was the cause.

Even so, it got oohs and ahhs for presentation, and i must say the flavor was great. ONe good tip, if you are putting jam between layers, first make a ridge of icing to create a dam, so it does not seep out and drip down the side of the cake.
