Comments (10)The paint is (Benjamin Moore) Impervex Latex High Gloss Metal & Wood Enamel, and it comes pre-made in Black. That's what I get. It's expensive! Here (Boulder, CO) one gallon is $57. The reason I use it is because it's what I was told at the paint store umpteen projects ago. I should probably check out Valspar and / or Behr but a bird in the hand ... and I want all the doors to match. (The SW store is a bit of a drive, which is why I didn't mention it.) For my children's rooms I'm planning on just painting the hall-side of their doors, not the side which faces into their bedrooms. I'm planning that because I don't want to introduce that much black into their rooms and then I'm concerned I'd have to paint their closet doors too. And I don't want to do that either. (lazy) Thank you for asking about my tiles! You are too sweet. They were laid a couple of weeks ago and I just got finished putting the second coat of wall color on. Seriously, I am like one year ahead of schedule. Yea!!! I still have to paint the cabs and then do my gingham effect on the walls, so now I'm one year out again. I think I haven't been really enjoying the tiles yet because they've been covered with a dropcloth and I am instead focusing on what isn't done, instead of enjoying what is. Sister, I am going to turn over a new leaf!...See MoreAnyone have Lever Style Doorknobs in your Interior Doors
Comments (36)I had the upstairs knobs changed to levers a couple weeks ago and I love them! Changed the hinges to match (orb). I think they make the entire second floor hallway (surrounded by 5 doors) look so much better, and they are easy to use...no problems. Laschnit, I had Kwikset levers installed that I purchased at HD. I think they look and feel super, and my handyman said they were easy-peasy to install. They are still fairly pricey, (though I know not close to Baldwin's prices)as the bill adds up when you go from door to door! So worth it, though. I'll change out the downstairs after I re-do the powder room and paint a couple of doors. HD had Baldwin on display, but I didn't think they looked any better than the ones I bought. I couldn't justify the cost differential. In fact, I liked the way the Kwikset looked more than the orb Baldwin options....See MorePaint interior doors black ?
Comments (18)we were on the fence as well(not black just other color) what made us stay on the white side of the fence-we were so burnt out by the time of doors decision( two years gut remodel) I just couldn't think anymore, and I need things to be highly considered. If my brain in the stage when it can't consider I push the decision for later..(well if I can lol) Right now I'm thinking of painting one small awkward window the wall color. Our handyman said "it will look like a hole in the wall" well maybe it's my intention since that awkward white really bothers me. I think though your hallway as other posters said(and as our hallway is too) might be too narrow to pull out that black maybe softer lighter color? oh sorry you just wrote it as I was typing you have many doors..black might be too heavy a look (BTW wanted to paint a trim too and our GC looked at me like I'm crazy..which he often did..then he was mostly pleasantly surprized at the results lol..but as I said that was a wrong stage of remodel lol. I just gave up) no, I woudn't do only French doors..not in your space..too many doors to pull that off or so I think...See MoreBlack interior doors?
Comments (17)Thank you all for your comments and suggestions! I will try to get some interior pictures soon, we are in the middle of a renovation, so it is currently quite a mess. I had a lot of comments that I might be choosing too much gray. I will have wood floors, white trim and am still debating whether to make the island the same color as the doors or a darker (than the floors) wood stain. The wall color will be a very pale gray—SW Repose that I will have mixed 25% lighter. Currently the walls and trim are all white and with all the windows and high ceilings, it feels rather stark and cold. I hope adding the warm gray walls and wood floors will warm it some. Thank you Diana Bier Interiors for the pictures, and I’ll check out some of the other websites mentioned. I’ll try to get picture s p...See MoreUser
