Comments (1)The undertones of the paint need to go with the undertones of the fixed elements, such as counters and flooring. In areas where there is upholstery, it is much easier to start with the furniture, then pick the right paint. It's way too soon to be picking specific paint colors. Comments (16)To help those in future searches.....we chose Sherwin Williams High Reflective White as our interior trim color. We are very happy with the choice, pops against the wall paint colors we chose (Crisp Linen, Natural Linen and Neutral Ground). It comes across as a "neutral white" to me. But it did cost us a few hundred more dollars than our original paint quote. Apparently this color only comes in some of SW paint grades so we had to upgrade to a different grade to get this color....See MoreWhat trim w/BM Simply White? Plus other urgent paint questions!
Comments (5)Thanks all! Glad to know I can stick w/all Simply White - I had a million other whites and griege colors but the SW almost glowed. We've expanded all the windows so I want to maximize the light-and-bright feel. At the same time I love color so it's a little hard for me to walk away from a chance to have a big bold paint color in every room. We'll have a lot of old Persian carpets plus some changing out furniture and linens so maybe that's where I'll go a little wilder. @Judy Graham, the window pictured is staying and is sized for egress. Originally there was a second window on the wall opposite the map that was removed when we added a new master suite. The plan called for a skylight but due to the truss structure it will have to be only 14" wide, smaller than originally anticipated. Overall the room feels a lot more compact than it did before (despite the fact that we were able to raise part of the ceiling in removing a dormer.) So I'm thinking hard about the paint here for keeping things bright....See MoreHelp! will Oxford white trim work with simply white walls
Comments (20)My contractor is coming back Monday so I needed to make a decision and whites are so complicated and I’ve heard horror stories of one white making the other dingy that’s why I usually go with trim same as wall but I like my whites to have some warmth both the colors do♥️ I just wanted to make sure they would work together..I don’t want to waste anymore money because paint is expensive...See MoreJennifer Hogan
