Lighting by entrance
Hi,
I just finished a redo of my living room and office. The one thing I can't solve is the lighting issue by my front door. I currently have a task lamp that a decorator friend had me get due to the small space but the area is so dark at night and I often need to sign things, look through mail, etc there. Any suggestions of what I could put there? An electrician thinks installing overhead light might be tricky. There is a light in the ceiling that shines on the fireplace so not sure why. Third picture in the area I am looking at. The one with the colorful picture and task lamp. Thank you!

4 years agoThis would be pretty and cast a more general light as opposed to something as directional as your task lamp.

Comments (5)It looks like you have to be careful of the door swing so I'm just wondering how much height space you have for it. It's 21" so how much actual height space do you have for it. 4 years agoI agree with the art light. If that doesn't provide enough light for you to do what's needed, then add a slim table lamp as well. Here's a nice touch lamp for convenience and an art light that picks up on your picture frame.
