I think that I would hesitate to block both heat vents and access to open and close the windows or blinds. That is one fabulous window. What a feature! What about a sofa with a small left chaise placed where the media console is now? It would be like a sectional, but would not come down past the heat vent or block the window as much. I like your current arrangement too. It looks like there may be room for another chair.

A couch is generally 2 adults and one empty cushion. A sectional, is generally 3 adults and 3 empty cushions or 4 adults and 2 empty cushions, if you have cup holders in a middle with 2 recliners on either side of cupholders, and 2 recliners on the end. A love seat is not long enough to 'stretch out' on, but each cushion has potential for an endtable(cup holder) and 2 adults will generally sit on it. SOO, the best case scenario is actually a LoveSeat, 2 recliners, an upholstered rocking chair or glider (with ottoman if possible), a chaise upholstered chair, and one pretty wood straight back chair with armrests &either a tapered seat or a cushioned seat. Seating for 5 to 7 depending on floorspace.. --- With your current set up, I would say the LoveSeat and Chaise is fine!, so I would look to add dual recliners with cupholders, and a pretty upholstered chair with an open stock, petite footrest, if you can find one. The chair is at Birchlane and the recliners are in Canvas(many options for fabrics) by LaZBoy. You have a beautiful place to live!! Don't forget to provide the endtables, for lamps and/or possibly a floor lamp /table combination by your couch/chaise? I think your television placement depends on where it fights the window glare best, and that is likely what you are planning too. I hope you can find a pretty console to set it on, if not a floating console. That would be so pretty in your nice open living area. Just keep it low, not high, in other words. It would be better to have empty space near the slider than to have a sectional all the way up to and in front of the slider, or a sectional with a short seating side in the open part of the room to keep the sliders clear. But I agree with others that a sofa and chair is much more functional.

Really??? I will give you my opinion on sectionals . I think sectionals are the most expensive way to but the most uncomfortable seating. No matter how large there are only the seats with an armrest that are comfy. All the rest are just like sitting in the center seat of a sofa that one no one wants to sit inusually. Get a sofa and 2 choirs 4 people comfy and the great thing is those pieces can be moved around and will fit if you move. As for a color I need to see the space often with the pieces I mention the sofa can be a solid and the chairs have some print .BTW that color is pretty intense beige maybe find the sofa yu love and paint the walls.
