Back of bookcase color
Comments (7)On a side note, I'll now have the crib later today. I'll never again do a ship to store to save shipping costs. I had other stuff I needed and at the time it seemed pracital. When I got word the crib wasn't going to be in as planned (ridiculous), I made a special trip because I wanted something to work on this week. Now it's in. :) Ha, never again. Back to the bookcase, I like the idea of the Manchester with a different sheen. I have some satin and gloss poly. I still also like the idea of the Hopsack too. I don't want to end up with too tight of a color palette but if it's not done right, I think things can start to look disjointed. I do have lots of books to add the case. I'm excited to get them out. I was trying to think about baskets and bins too. I like the look of the lined heavy weave type baskets but it might be better to get cloth or plastic bins. Still leaning towards adding a fluffy brown (faux) pelt rug to the room but I'll have to see as things progress. Stay tuned!...See MoreWhat color for this little bookcase/pet feeding spot?
Comments (12)Thank you everyone! You know, it's a bit reddish on my monitor too. ;) IRL, it's a hot, hot pink. It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look intentional either. I'm leaning toward a deeper red to tie into rug an and artwork. Matching the bar stools is still an option- and I even have the paint for that, but something about red is speaking to me. I think this is essentially the color palette of the area. I'll have to get some color chips today....See MoreBookcases, again. But only about bookcases this time I promise.
Comments (22)Yes, and that is the first time that has been asked; "...do you have fruit on your books in that bookcase?" It turns out, believe it or not, I have a tchotchke shortfall. A dearth of doodads. I am just grabbing at things, including marble peaches which could roll off and leave a cannonball-like indent in my floors. Incongruous, you say? You mean you don't read by candlelight whilst slurping on peaches? I might scour the house looking for more stuff, but any doodads I might find are already busy doodadding wherever they are, amirite? Everytime I walk past this thing now I do something to it. First I threw out all the jackets. Then, I turned them around ... which meant I could've kept the jackets. Next I might chalk paint the whole thing, books and trinkets included. But rest assured, it is on its way out. She would turn the books around and add more. Go duke it out with Arapaho....See MoreBookcase and fireplace ideas and suggestions needed
Comments (6)IMO unless you have lovely things that should be dislayed or lots of books I would not do bookcases at all. Get 2 matching lower type cabinets wall hang the TV above one on an articulating arm if neccessasty then hang a nice piece of art above the other cabinet to balance the TV some nice simple mantel decor and you are done . Minimal eye clutter and a heck of a lot less dusting....See MoreColor Zen
