Help for a blue Blue Satin Question
Comments (1)Hi, I am new to hibiscus plants too. I also just bought two blue satins...planted one in an open spot that gets sun all day in the summer. The other one I planted on the east side of the house...so it gets sun from about 7 in the morning till about 1 pm when the sun move past the middle mark, and the shadow of the house falls on the plant. I was told by the man who sold me these plants that both are fine for the plants. Remember these woody shrubs like full sun to part shade...so they dont necessarily want to be fried all day long...good luck to you....See MoreBlue Star rangetop question
Comments (3)I do not mean to be rude, but I thought we just explained this for you a short time ago: http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/appl/msg0114235112758.html Let me try to make this simpler. Blue Star is talking about any walls and cabinets THAT EXTEND ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE RANGETOP AND THE PARTS OF THE WALLS THAT ARE ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE RANGETOP AND WHICH ARE WITHIN 6 INCHES HORISONTALLY from the rangetop. Do you plan on having something that (a) is a combustible material such as plaint dry wall or wooden cabinets, and (b) which is taller that the counter in which your rangetop will sit AND (C) stands less than six inches away from the edges of your range top? If so then, YOU MUST either (a) sheath/cover that wall, tall cabinet side with a non-combustible surface such as tile, glass, metal plate etc. or (b) figure out a different arrangement for your kitchen. If you plan on installing your rangehood in the middle of a countertop where the only thing close will be the the back wall, then you can either (a) install a backguard/riser on the cooktop or (b) out tile, glass, steel or other non-combustible layer on teh back wall If you do not understand this, please telephone Blue Star and talk to them. Get them to explain it to you. if you cannpt accept or trust that, then do not buy a rangetop. Move on to another concept for your kitchen....See MoreCambria quartz question and Blue Motion
Comments (2)Regarding the cambria quartz which i have and love, by the way, the installer templated and then brought the cut slabs to install. I did not request to see the slabs prior to cutting which I probably could have and maybe should have since there are a couple of larger areas of darkness that in the beginning always caught my eye, like something was on the counter. But, having them since right before Christmas, it no longer catches my eye. I love some of the looks of granite I see here but was very fearful of kids, DH, guests staining and i also like to use bleach whenever cooking with poultry so therefore went for the quartz. Clean-up is a breeze with the blue stuff. And they go sooo well with my cabinets. You can get samples directly from Cambria for free(limit of 3). Good luck with your decision-making. In regards to the blue motion, my cab drawers have the soft closers but I really don't know too much about them. I love the feature but you kinda expect everything else to close the same way....fridge, doors, other drawers around the house, etc...lololol I am glad i got them and if you have young kids you will probably appreciate it even more.......See MoreCabinet color help: white and blue or just blue
Comments (18)I'll just wait until the cabinets are in to pick open shelves. I do prefer the look of wood shelves over painted shelves but we'll see how it looks when everything comes together.... Still not decided on color combo though so if anyone else has any input I'd appreciate it. The layout is finalized so I just need to pick the color by the end of the week so I can put in my order....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
