I found something that cleans grout
Comments (41)Hi I have been reading for some time. I have a cleaning service and they all complain about the smell. I don't think that it works that well and it is way too $$$ for the end result. I agree with the liquid soap or the body wash as you will never have any soap scum. Hard water is a something else and is a problem unto itself. The grout in the 50's was great. You should see the $40,000 bathrooms which I clean and the grout is just falling out. The tiled shower floors are the worst and they have had to take down the ceilings in the floors below due to mold. I know that they have a pan below the tile but each family has 3 and 4 teenage boys that shower an hour at a time 2 and 3 times a day. They replace their water heaters every few years also. In my last home I had self cleaning glass in the showers. You just hosed it down and what ever the glass was treated with just sheeted and there was not a water drop to be seen. You did have to hose it down. I went back to try for this house and they were either out of business or had moved. I am still in contact with the buyers of my former home and they are still enchanted with the shower doors. I wish I had them here. Steve...See MoreKitchenaid Stainless, I found a great cleaner
Comments (8)The instructions say "wipe to clean after use"...yeah....right! I WASH the thing religiously after use, and it doesn't do a thing. For instance, I ran the glass turntable in the dishwasher on the potscrubber cycle and that didn't even clean all of the spots. I think what happens is the convection part just cooks any spots in place and sets them permanently. I have had a plain microw for years and just ran a 2 cup measure of vinegar water in it and then washed it out...spotless every time! This conv/micro is a whole OTHER problem!! Thanks for your help though! (I really think the interior is made up of an uncleanable substance that just looks like stainless :^(...See MoreGrout Cleaner help please
Comments (3)Best thing I've found so far is Black Diamond Ultimate Grout Cleaner. I ordered it from QVC. Pricey...I believe it was around $15 plus shipping for 2 bottles. Spray it on, wait a few minutes, and then scrub a bit. You'll see the dirt come off, and then just rinse. Gave one bottle to my daughter today...she couldn't believe how nice her grout looks now. My grout is darker, so the results weren't as visible, but still better than anything else I've tried... plus it doesn't smell bad....See MoreAdvice Comparing Air Cleaners
Comments (10)About 5 years ago we installed a Carrier system with a Carrier Electronic Air Cleaner. I was somewhat disappointed, because I saw some dust collect on the blower cover just beneath the Air Cleaner within a couple of weeks after cleaning the unit. Because I thought (wrongly) that this whoop de doo unit was much better somehow than an ordinary pleated filter, I put up with the normal snapping sounds when dust hit the thing and got zapped, the nuisance of cleaning the filters and occasionally replacing the wires that sometimes broke. Finally, it stopped making those zaps, and I asked my maintenance contract mechanic to repair it--he just took the dumb grids out, and replaced them with an Air Bear 8 pleated filter--are you certain THAT will be as good as my high-tech wonder filter I asked--he just laughed. Before putting it in, he wiped the blower case clean--after the Air Bear was in a couple of months, I took it out and looked--and the blower case was still clean. Wouldn't have happened with the electronic unit. My unscientific verdict: the electronic air cleaner is a rip-off--don't waste your money!...See Moresalonva
